Another signing that doesn't play LB. :mad2:

Oh well, I guess our plan is to outscore everbody.

Tight end Shad Meier became the latest former Titan to land on his feet elsewhere as he agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints last night.

''I talked to (former Titans fullbacks) Robert Holcombe and Greg Comella, just to get advice from guys who have gone through free agency before,'' Meier said. ''They both said the exact same thing, to be patient because it could last a long time or it could go really quick. I was coming at it from both angles, and the way it went was great.''

Meier, a third-round draft pick by the Titans in 2001, caught a career-high 25 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns in 2004. He missed two games after having his appendix removed during the season.

In four seasons, Meier caught 42 passes for 334 yards and three TDs.

The Titans didn't exercise an option in Meier's contract, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Meier had a visit scheduled for Pittsburgh on Sunday, but he took the Saints offer after meeting with Coach Jim Haslett, among others.

''(Their offense) is a lot like the same thing as Tennessee, just different terminology,'' Meier said.

Dont know much about the guy. Is he more of a blocker or a receiver? If he is a blocker and with the interest in bigger backs like Dayne and Smith, perhaps all the hoopla about recommiting the offense to a power running game with the play action pass is true.

1. if our offense is like tennessee then our defense much be much better.

2. i don\'t really know if this is more of a lateral move...to be honest.
