several of us had live chat with the new member CanLoomis last night. If you haven't had a chance to discuss anything with him do make the effort. some will be skeptical of his actual real life connections within the saints organization. after much conversation he has said nothing for me to doubt that. if it is someone wacked out enough to do such as an internet game i am sure they would be fleshed out by the knowledgeable crew here. i sense candidness and no agenda. he is open to more live chat whether as planned like last week here with the BGers or whenever he has time.

i do not think he will mind me reiterating what i remember of his thoughts/comments:

*do not expect any sexy or big name free agency signings from this point. the meier signing or antowain smith kind at most.

*no offers for howard known. believes we should hop on one asap, hopefully a 2nd rounder

*believes haz has an aggressive defensive philosophy that has not come thru to the field. it has been more venturi's bend not break. current players are not experienced (especially lb's) enough to be read and react in that mode. haz probably did have more direct input in those last games and the result was some change in that.

*venturi does have a job for life within the organizatin whatever it may be.

*benson's 28-29 yr old grand daughter is in position to take over running the team. it is unknown if that will mean improvement or not

*mueller was a good guy that benson has smeared after he left. why he is on espn now instead of a fo.

*there are still a boatload of employees that absolutely hate loomis. haz is in cahoots with loomis too. front office characterized as at war.

*his high hope is for a OT with the first round pick. it would be much better than counting on mayberry.

*in a world of hurt if brooks goes down

*sullivan's heart and drive were even questioned when at uga.

*kenny smith and hodge are definite goners

*allen had a track record of not being so smart coming out of college

*bockwoldt is legit. a great find.

that's all for my feeble memory now. anyone else that chatted chime in. joesam?

While I am not questioning anyone\'s knowledge, most if not all of this stuff I already knew and I am not inside the Saints org. I am sure we all knew about Benson\'s granddaughter for a few years now. I think we all know we aren\'t gonna get another big name FA, even though we would love to see it. Many member of the board have questioned Mayberry at RT, repeatedly. Now, this could just speak to the level of knowledge of the fans on this board, which I do believe. We know bouman is poo-poo as a backup, several of us have mentioned Sully\'s resume to those who think he isn\'t a bust. Like I said, not questioning the guy, but we are all fans and seem to have the same knowledge. That\'s why this is a great site.

I\'d have to agree with saintswhodi on this... which we have to admit is rare. Most of the info is no brainer stuff. YOu can get from any other source/websites like projection of draftee\'s. I do like some of the info he has posted but when using sources from inside the organization starts to send up flags.

i dont count it as any gospel myself. but he hasnt tried to come off as anymore than his opinion either. it is just that his opinions have been formed from direct interchange with the current staff and not outside speculation as most of us. round ratings of players from an individual within the club is no big deal, there isnt much diff on that across any board.

If thats the case then I look for more of the same in 2005. This is good news. Maybe the last four games (6 actually) weren\'t a fluke.

Oh and thanks for the update. I know its what most of us speculated but its nice to get some valid affirmation.
