So what do we do in KC next week

I feel this is the Houston game of last year. Cooks is gonna have trouble and Fleener is not gonna do well here. This is a game Thomas has to get involved but you know we are gonna run the ball early in this kind of game. Also, it's time Snead shows up in a tough road game. He has yet to do so.

Like SD, this is coming down to defense going after Smith and getting turnovers because with this offense in games like this that's what has to happen.

Keenan Allen was destroying them before he got hurt and then KC came back and won. That's what happens when you don't have a dynamic playmaker. It takes playmakers to beat this team.

Fast start will be crucial, as well as some form of run game! I agree that Michael Thomas might be a secret sauce for this bbq.

We need to learn to value a lead. This team was up 21 points and I knew we where going to blow the lead. Back in the day if we got a 21 point lead in the Dome it was curtains. I love how we fought in the end and it was great for our kicker to gain some confidence. I think even with a loss we have an outside chance to win the division. KC is going to be one of the toughest games of the year though.

Re: So what do we do in KC next week

We are not going to have any lead like that in this game. As I said, SP will protect Brees by running the ball a lot. Though this team can stop the run.

Their offense is not that good, they only scored 17 points at home despite getting six turnovers off the jets.

Really???
I recall 35 point leads and we blew it and lost.

Well we have more weapons than maybe ever on offense. Fleener is starting to look ok. Cooks scares the living bejesus out of defenses with his speed. Take away those two and you still have Snead and Thomas to battle and Ingram is no slouch either. Most importantly on offence will be if we can get Peat and Maybe Armstead back.

Defensivly we really need to stop their running game. They have a decent QB in Smith but he don't scare me as much even with the patch-work secondary we got.

But can Cooks take off in that atmosphere? KC is one of the top defenses against TEs. They are going to take them out of the game.

I said the exact same thing in the live chat, I don't blame people for calling me negative then, yeah it is a negative point of view but it's also the truth and we proved that yesterday.

Blew a 21 point lead, just like vs Oakland. Only difference is we learned to finish this time, Carolina left us far too much time on the clock and we were smart with timeouts.

Sean Payton is lacking the killer instinct, whenever we get up by 14+ points we coast and let teams back into the game.

I applauded the D for the the game they played in the first half, but immediatedly withdrew it after the win.

1st half - 10 points allowed
2nd half - 28 points allowed

Brees should not have to throw for 500 yards and 4 TD's to win by 3 points..

Possibly, but then you have Fleener on the post, Sneed underneath & Michael Thomas & Josh Hill etc. There are multiple ways to beat a team when they take away your best threat on offense.

Sean is a master of offensive adjustments & play calling.

Execution was the problem not play calling

Last time I checked Sean doesn't suit up

When has a Sean Payton coached team blown a 35 point lead?

I don't know but remember that eagles playoff 1993? Up 20-7, go to bed for school, wake up and we lost. Wtf man

Our defense needs to be coached up big time to beat KC. They throw in a lot of wrinkles to exploit and keep defenses off balance, like Alex Smith running the option.

I'm just saying I play fantasy. Tightends do not do well against KC. Did you just say Hill?

Hill did have a hell of a TD catch yesterday.
I do play fantasy and every time I start Drew in an outdoor stadium I get buttfricked.
I will be starting Winston this week.
I hope I'm proven wrong.

can the defense stop the bleeding on the road enough to give Drew a shot at winning the game.

KC secondary is good.

Yes sir. Marcus Peters leads the league in INT's.

I would love to be optimistic about out chances, but I have a feeling that Alex Smith is going to tear our defense apart on 3rd downs with those sucker QB sneak things that he does.

He could probably punk our defense out like this:

But seriously -- remember the one he ran for a TD in San Fran in 2011? I shudder to think what he could get away with against our D.

Don't think we coast. Remember Drew tried to throw a deep ball in the middle that was picked off which led to a kitty TD. If we were coasting I don't think we throw the ball that deep. Another time Drew overthrew Cooks which ended up giving the ball back to the kittys. We just always want the pick big play which is great, don't get me wrong but when you are eating up a D with 5-7 yard per play keep doing it until they stop you. Then put them away. When you have a lead like we had you don't have to be extremely conservative but you don't always have to go for the kill shot. Keep the chains and the clock moving.

JJ Watt doesn't play for KC and he was eating Strief alive. I would use the run to set up play action shoulder fake approach, but I'm not a genius.

Re: So what do we do in KC next week

We better tackle on defense. Everybody meet at the ball, and with Alex Smith it'll be short quick passes so we gotta disrupt the WRs at the line.

We can eeek out 21/24 points against these guys I think.

LOL..instead of acting like you know something because you play fantasy, try actually doing some research. KC has yet to play a QB/TE in the same neighborhood as ours. The closest was game 1 against the Chargers. Game 2 was against the Texans, go ahead,,name the TE without looking it up. Game 3 Jets..again..name the TE. Game 4 Steelers, Jessie james may sound like a cool name but his play is meh. Game 5 bye, Game 6 Oakland Clive Walford.

Now do they get a downgrade because they playing in KC, absolutely. Brees arm doesn't work as good for some reason away from home. But seeing how Cooper just dropped 130 yrds on this vaunted D in the pouring rain gives hope.

Probably get our asses handed to us. If we do happen to win then things could get interesting

09 thru 11? I don't remember too many o them. I didn't look back and check but just from my memory we was basically unbeatable at home.

I read earlier today that the Saints defense has 10 QB hits in the last 2 games. Hopefully they can get to Smith Sunday.

Hopefully this 32nd ranked defense can limit the big plays by Alex Smith. I thought we did a decent job on Greg Olsen last week however another potential head ache will be putting a hat on Kelce & Jeremy Maclin.

Anyone going to this game? I'd love to tailgate and argue over just HOW we will win in the remaining :30 seconds of the 4th Quarter.

I'm taking a bottle of bayer aspirin to the game. Does Bayer Aspirin get a pass at Security?
