So what do we do in KC next week
I feel this is the Houston game of last year. Cooks is gonna have trouble and Fleener is not gonna do well here. This is a game Thomas has to get involved but you know we are gonna run the ball early in this kind of game. Also, it's time Snead shows up in a tough road game. He has yet to do so.
Like SD, this is coming down to defense going after Smith and getting turnovers because with this offense in games like this that's what has to happen. Keenan Allen was destroying them before he got hurt and then KC came back and won. That's what happens when you don't have a dynamic playmaker. It takes playmakers to beat this team. |

Fast start will be crucial, as well as some form of run game! I agree that Michael Thomas might be a secret sauce for this bbq.

Re: So what do we do in KC next week
We need to learn to value a lead. This team was up 21 points and I knew we where going to blow the lead. Back in the day if we got a 21 point lead in the Dome it was curtains. I love how we fought in the end and it was great for our kicker to gain some confidence. I think even with a loss we have an outside chance to win the division. KC is going to be one of the toughest games of the year though.

We are not going to have any lead like that in this game. As I said, SP will protect Brees by running the ball a lot. Though this team can stop the run.
Their offense is not that good, they only scored 17 points at home despite getting six turnovers off the jets. |

Re: So what do we do in KC next week
Well we have more weapons than maybe ever on offense. Fleener is starting to look ok. Cooks scares the living bejesus out of defenses with his speed. Take away those two and you still have Snead and Thomas to battle and Ingram is no slouch either. Most importantly on offence will be if we can get Peat and Maybe Armstead back.
Defensivly we really need to stop their running game. They have a decent QB in Smith but he don't scare me as much even with the patch-work secondary we got. |

But can Cooks take off in that atmosphere? KC is one of the top defenses against TEs. They are going to take them out of the game.

Blew a 21 point lead, just like vs Oakland. Only difference is we learned to finish this time, Carolina left us far too much time on the clock and we were smart with timeouts. Sean Payton is lacking the killer instinct, whenever we get up by 14+ points we coast and let teams back into the game. I applauded the D for the the game they played in the first half, but immediatedly withdrew it after the win. 1st half - 10 points allowed 2nd half - 28 points allowed Brees should not have to throw for 500 yards and 4 TD's to win by 3 points.. |

Execution was the problem not play calling
