If this does not get you - nothin will

The Amsterdam Admirals are in good hands with Norman Hand and Omari Hand. They have traveled two totally different roads to get here, but now find themselves coming together on the same field everyday as the Admirals hold a four-week training camp in St. Petersburg, Fla. Norman is a 10-year NFL veteran with a lot to offer and Omari is a future NFL star who is soaking it all in.

Norman is currently a defensive tackle with the New York Giants, but is part of the NFL Europe Coaching Program that allows him to go through training camp as coach for the Admirals. The program is in its third year and is a joint venture between NFL Player Development in New York and the NFL Players Association and will see each NFLEL team assign retired and current NFL players as coaches for training camp and for the entire 2005 campaign.

Norman’s specialty lies on the defensive line and he has a plethora of knowledge that he can’t wait to share with the young Admirals.

“I can show them techniques and formations, Norman said. “I am trying to give them a heads up on what they are going to need to get to the next level.

And already Norman has noticed a big difference from the NFL to NFL Europe.

“It is different because of the guys attitudes, he said. “You know you come over here and you see the guys are so humble. Being in the NFL you can take that for granted and watching these guys work makes you appreciate what you have. They don’t complain at all and they all have great work ethic.

Send Sully over there. Maybe the drugs will make him lose the weight.

He wasn\'t. There are some who will label ANY former player no longer with the Saints as a player Haslet personally labeled a cancer.

Hand was released, or was he traded?, b/c he went from big wiggle to big fizzle in the course of a year. He just got too damn fat. So the Saints upgraded to Jonathan Sullivan. Whew.

What would you prefer right now? A guy aspiring to be a coach and help young players learn and develop, who really can\'t get it done on the field. Or a lazy millionaire who costs three times as much in salary, two first round draft picks, and would rather hang out at the press buffet than in the locker room with the team?

I think that\'s the point 08 is making.

Wow, I certainly didn\'t read it that way.

Maybe he meant if a frog had wings it wouldn\'t bump his arse trying to fly.
