Last year he had 180 yards against Florida, who had a top defense and he also ran for over 140 against them as a freshman when they also had a good defense. He had over a 100 yards as a freshman against what was a very good Ole Miss defense that year. He had almost 160 against a pretty good Miss St defense last year. What do want him to do? Play top ten defenses every week? Nobody does that. Most defenses in college football pretty much suck. Yet you don't see anyone doing what he has done the last two years, do you? The only time he really got shut down in the last two years was against bama last year. The line gave him ZERO room. Nobody can find a hole and run through it when they have two or three guys in the backfield when they first touch the ball. As for his receiving numbers, have you paid attention to all of us who have been saying why Les Miles needed to go? He refused to use any imagination in his offense. All he wanted to do was line up and run, and throw as a last resort. Yet, with all that predictability, Leonard managed to lead the nation in yards per game. Now that he is being allowed to run out of the backfield and catch passes, we get to see what he can do. There is nothing he can't do at his position. How many passes does Adrian Peterson catch, anyway? Some of you guys are just determined to find a reason to doubt Fournette. I can't get over how ridiculous some of these excuses are. |

But yeah, you're right. He's had to do all of this with no help from his QB until just recently where the interim staff has finally allowed our passing game to breathe. And as you said, no ligament damage. I don't know why anyone would worry about durability with him. This ankle problem is the first issue he's had at LSU, and yet no one has held him down this year. He probably could have played against Southern Miss, but why risk that against an inferior team? It's nuts what some people will say. |
Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
No back can run the ball effectively without an O line. His upside is much better than Ingram and it would be a mistake to pass on Him. Ingram does not show much ability to take it to the house on longer runs. He has been an enigma to me although not exactly a bust he has definitely under achieved. We need to upgrade the O line as a priority and then D-Line the obvious flaws in our defense.

Speaking of STUD LF ... saw a 1st round MOCK draft (USA). They have him going to CAROLINA. Of all teams ... Carolina :disgusted:.
It's a good thing this is a "mock" draft. Edit: See link http://draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/1...d-projections/ |

I'm all for trademarking Ingram. I'm sure his Td celebrations would be unique if he could ever find the end zone.
