New Orleans Saints*offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. said he didn't lobby to take over play-calling duties this year, but the offense is thriving with him at the wheel.

Through six games, the Saints rank second in yards per game (421.7) and third in points per game (29.3), and they're second in third-down conversions (49 percent), a stat that helps them accumulate all those yards and points.

And in Sunday's loss the Kansas City Chiefs, the Saints accomplished something they never had in franchise history as they scored a touchdown on the opening drive for the fourth straight game.

Overall it's not a problem, but it lost the chiefs game single handedly.

Our D may be bad but they only allowed 6 points the entire second half, whereas the offense scored 7 first half points, gave away a pick 6 and fumbled in the redzone.

It's the way the saints are, if our D starts to hold up, the offense gives the game away. If we go up by 21 points like vs Carolina, the D lays down and makes the game close.

Its torture to watch every week.

I've always thought Carmichael was a better playcaller than Sean especially post Bountygate.

Could sprinkle a lil more of the run game in there. We pass over 70% of the time. I know the defense is bad so they play usually behind alot but prior to that they abandon it too soon but when ahead they should run to keep the defense off the field but they still are too pass happy.
