New Orleans Saints*offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. said he didn't lobby to take over play-calling duties this year, but the offense is thriving with him at the wheel. Through six games, the Saints rank second in yards per game (421.7) and third in points per game (29.3), and they're second in third-down conversions (49 percent), a stat that helps them accumulate all those yards and points. And in Sunday's loss the Kansas City Chiefs, the Saints accomplished something they never had in franchise history as they scored a touchdown on the opening drive for the fourth straight game.
