The Return of Jimmy Graham
So, the Seahawks have finally put their broken toy soldier back together so that he can start in a return to the Superdome.
What should the Who Dat Nation response be? A) Standing Ovation for the years of excitement he gave us B) Polite Applause for someone who was once part of our beloved Black & Gold family C) Boos for the enemy Just curious. I live in the Philly area and I KNOW what an Iggles response would be! |
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
You treat him with respect. He isnt Galette and deserves respect
|
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
B.
I will always give Jimmy all respect for what he has accomplished in his time with the Saints, especially given the circumstances of how he got there. He was a fantasy beast for a long while for those who do that thing and he was an invaluable weapon for Drew prior to his drop-off before he left. But I always caution against what is perceived to be as idolatry to anyone who puts on the Black and Old Gold. I believe there is only 15 Saints in their 50 years who can merit a standing ovation. |
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Didn't Jimmy send a tweet to Akiem Hicks saying something like "thank god you left that place"
I wouldn't be surprised if others haven't forgot that, trades happen in football but he was extremely immature about the whole matter. He was a great player but was definitely immature with us, the most telling game was when he tried to start a fight with Seahawks linebackers before the game and ended with one catch for 4 yards. |

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Can you blame players for being p1ssed. He was a major part of the team, just been given a franchise size contract then traded away to the other side of the country with no say in the matter. Would he have signed a new deal if he knew he would be traded?
Trades happen but players dont have to be happy about it. He hasn't said thing like JG so i dont blame him for not being happy |
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
If Graham would have been a better blocker like Shockey or Gonzalez I doubt he would have been traded.
But that and the wringer he put the Saints through over being paid as a TE/WR made trading him easier to swallow, plus we got a great center out of the deal! |
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
When Graham was humble and hungry he was unstoppable
Then his face was on the nfl network 24/7 on a contract for 8 months Once Talib and the Patriots showed that you could hold on to him all the way down the field with no flags other good secondarys took him out ofbig games The defiant goal post slam dunks were the nail in his coffin I would like to see him get cheers but I fear he will get booed Especially as part of our nemesis arch rival |

You are either a Siaint or you aint...

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Seattle can have him.
|
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Well it's after the fact now, but my answer would have been to just pretend he isn't there, and hopefully the team will send the message.
I don't hate him, nor was I afraid of him doing much today. It would have been different if it were a guy who left over a contract dispute. I'd be more inclined to rag on him, then. |

Even funnier was how Richard Sherman was shaking hands, chatting it up with Saints players yet Jimmy Dickens was already half way to the locker room? He couldn't wait to get off the field and into the tunnel.

We fleeced Seattle with that move. We have 3 pro bowl/all pro players on our line now. We are a guard away from having a killer Oline. Just what we need to keep Brees healthy at this age. |

Boooooooo!!!

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
I think Jimmy went a little too much Hollywood.

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Jimmy was a non-factor today.
Unger is the anchor of our revamped offensive line (that plowed some running holes in the SeaHags today BTW). Again, steel of the century trade. All the best to Jimmy. Good luck getting anything out of him for Pete Carroll. |

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
He didn't ask to be traded and he played well for us. Once a Saint. Always a Saint. Bobby Hebert and Morten Anderson played for the freaking Failcons and we still love them. Roman Harper was a Painther for crying out loud and now he's wearing the black and gold again and I was tickled to get his signature on my wooden Super bowl football.
I wish Jimmy well. |
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Sam Mills, Willie Roaf, Turley, Ivory, Jenkins, Porter, Knight....oh and Aaron Brooks :)
|
Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
I love Jimmy. Always will. He and Brees were two of the main reasons I support the Saints :)

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Jimmy isnt even considered a top 5 TE anymore. Drew and our offensive game plan helped make him great here in nola

Re: The Return of Jimmy Graham
Jimmy did some beautiful things in our scheme. Thanks Jimmy.
Multiple weapons and options at Brees' disposal made lots of guys look good. Seattle showed the world how to hem him up at the line of scrimmage and then traded for him and have had to live with the result. So Jimmy couldn't block. No Big run game since he left either. Maybe it wasn't Jimmy. Any player that leaves this offense is about to fall off a cliff. If Brees ended up some place else 10 years ago, it is very possible that he would be done. |

Bobby may have went and played for the Failclowns, but he returned and his love for the Saints is pretty unwavering. Morton was money and played for the Saints for years before going to the clowns. They both will always be remembered as Saints. Jimmy tried to get paid as a WR when he was a TE. That's fine. It's his right. It's a business right? Well the Saints proved that they could go get an old guy who was humble and a team player to do the same thing. It's a business thing for them too. But man c'mon, he lost sight that he was a product of Drew Brees and Sean Payton's system. I'm not taking anything away from him for his performance, but his head got bigger than his helmet. Then he left and instead of being humble and classy, he started trash talking. Should've stayed classy and humble. He'll never be as good with anyone else as he was here. No Brees/Payton...nuff said there. |
