I get upset when he is messing up on where he should be on simple zone coverages. Like when he clearly has the flat but is way inside. But then i have to stop and remember, he is being put into this situation when he isn't fully ready, and is playing pretty decent under those circumstances. |

He was likely not in the plans to play anything but special teams and a few sub-packages.
Then our top 17 CB's all go down and he's forced to start a year maybe 2 too early. I can't believe anyone would be ripping this guy. He was a project for 2017 playing time. |

It's a strange mindset we Fans have with backup players forced to step into starting action and our expectations for them.

I agree, and lack of pressure early in the season only magnified the issues. DA is trying to protect him as much as possible but cushions can only do so much for so long.

Dont forget that seattle bobbled the fg attempt at the end of the first half. That was huge.

Building depth of experience with our young players that will be key going forward.
DA has put the best team he has available on the field, when he starts to get his #1's back we will see the true measure of his defense, then and and not before. All the negativity about the why's and where for's, coulda woulda shoulda's is background noise at this point, not saying there is not mistakes that have been made. But it is what it is and it is improving. 3 wins out of the last 4 with the "D" making its contribution to the win and the #1's starting filter back to the field is a good thing. |
