Back when the dB could use their hands. a rule change to drive the scores higher and make more money. same with the NBA and hand checking. Baseball and lowering the mound.

many of today's WRs would never make a team back in the day.

They still got scored on...meh. Cheating to get scored on but by less? It could have been 0 points. I don't see it as smart at all.
