Dont jump to conclusions.

There are so many supplements out there that are not investigated enough. It's far to easy to slip a banned substance into a "pre-workout" supplement.

He will appeal and might serve it next year, nothing to worry about now.

Big blow. Kenny Vaccaro has huge impact on this defense. There was one game this season when Harper played in his place. It was very ugly. Vaccaro is not perfect but he is always in position to make a play. (run game) Harper often is nowhere near football.

Hopefully he doesn't get suspended(if he does) until after week 11. We really don't need him against LA, Detroit, TB maybe. But TB has not been able to beat us for four Qs unless Brees is banged up and they're not as good at home.

We are slowly fighting back, D is trending upwards and we have won 4 of the last 5 games, then Vaccaro goes and does something like this and screws us over.

Seriously, think about the team, your viewed as a leader on defense, this could demoralise them now.

It doesn't matter if you think that it is wrong to ban a substance or not, if the NFL ban apples YOU CANNOT TAKE THEM. What the hell is wrong with players that do this. Why is Adderall banned, anyway? Since when is a drug used to treat hyperactivity considered a performance enhancer? For the record, I am not a fan of that drug, as it seems to turn people into zombies when they're on it. It's hardly anything that should help anyone on the field.

Kenny shouldn't be taking it if it's banned, for the sake of the team, but this is kind of dumb. And as others have already said, who knows what he actually took.

It also physically enhance your muscles, strength, and endurance with a lot of side effects that can affect your heart and brain if you abuse drugs not to mention it is highly addictive. The drug is used for adhd patients that minds seems to wonder off or simply have a hard time paying attention. If you have kids in sports I highly recommend you keep them away from this drug, the side effects are not worth it.

I know what it does, that's why I said it's used to treat hyper activity. But more than making you calm, it just makes people sluggish. I knew some people years ago who had a child who was super hyper (imagine that) and they put her on adderall for some reason. That poor little girl looked like someone put a computer chip in her brain and programmed her to be silent. I haven't seen those people in years, and they might have thought they were helping her, but I hated seeing that.

With that in mind, I don't believe for a second that it helps you perform. He shouldn't take it if it's banned, period. We can't afford to have him suspended. And I don't think anyone should take that drug, simply because it is really not good for anyone. But it's not a steroid, and it's not cocaine. I still don't get why it's on the banned list.

The fact that Kenny (might) have knowingly taken a drug he knew was banned is of course a different subject.

Adderal effects everyone differently. I can pop some and go out drinking all night, basically cracked out... Some take it and just zone out and focus. If Vacarro was prescribed Adderal, I don't see a problem. PRESCRIBED. Even then... I don't see how it would have that big of an effect on his game.

If Vaccaro screwed up, fine; but the animosity from the Goodell-led League Office toward the Saints is ridiculous and made evident with this slight...

Too bad Benson's a geriatic infant managed by a gold-digger and a sniveling CPA; we really need leadership from the owner on several fronts - mostly we need a strong owner to take the Commissioner to task...

Team should have been informed before a public announcement...

Its been found to lower reaction time so players are more focused and can react quicker, no wonder Kenny had been making plays on the ball more often this year.

Adderall is an amphetamine based drug. Amphetamines are known performance enhancers. This particular amphetamine has activity that increases brain activity around one block of thoughts - hyperfocusing - which is good for people who have a hard time keeping their focus on tasks at hand. In this way, it acts as a double performance enhancer.

It is a very dangerous drug. Like any amphetamine, it disrupts endocrine balances and causes dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain to fluctuate greatly. It also has high potential for addiction.

Unfortunately, performance benefits on focus and memory are not sustainable or permanent. It is a short term solution to behavioral problems and is overused because of misinformation and "underground" non-clinically verified anecdotal "successes".

Did any of you read this story that WhoDat!656 posted? Vacarro isn't facing any suspension at this point. The NFL violated the confidentiality clauses of the testing policy. There is not supposed to be ANY reporting of violations until after both samples have been tested AND an appeal has been heard AND denied. None of this has happened. We also do not know when this sample was taken. It could have been at any period, even pre-season.

Once again, if you take the time and read the article it mentions that the NFLPA has been waiting for the opportunity to challenge the league office over the policy for some time. It says that this may be the perfect opportunity. That said, even IF Vacarro's second sample also fails it could be months before it ever reaches the point of a suspension.

This is exactly why the confidentiality clause is in place. People are condemning the player when he has not even been convicted.

Pump your brakes, people. Chill out.
