Let's not start blaming the refs

Seriously people, we aren't seahawks fans, I got tired enough of that when we played them and they moaned for 3 hours straight.

It's not the refs fault we committed 4 turnovers

It's the teams fault, up 17-10 a TD would have put Denver away I believe. One fumble, D holds for a FG.

Later another fumble, D holds to a FG again.

Not to mention tipped balls going straight to denvers D.

You can't expect to commit 4 turnovers and still win, yet we still lead until the blocked XP.

If he was in or out doesn't matter anymore, if we had shut them out when we had the momentum it wouldn't be an issue.

Let's not become like Seattle fans, we had this game firmly in our grasp and as the Post-superbowl Sean Payton Saints often do, they threw it away.

The D had a nice game, 7 sacks and 2 Int's I believe.

Breaux does not look healthy, he could barely run with D. Thomas.

If we had scored earlier and not given the ball away it wouldnt have been an issue.

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

A ref was following behind on the blocked PAT, when it was obvious he was going to be skirting the sidelines, he should have looked for the runner to potentially step out!

You can easily see half of his foot is not in the green field of play!

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

Sure, everything that happened prior to that point is what led to that moment...

However, there were actually 2 missed calls in that play:
1. The runner stepping out of bounds.
2. Drescher was held down by 2 Bronco Dlinemen to allow their DB to jump over him.

Look very closely at Drescher, and look where he ends.

Fumbles lost - 2
Interceptions thrown - 2

We coached and played pretty well in this game. Looking a ton better than when we were 0-4 and 0-3.

Great play the Broncos and they got the call on the sideline. Maybe we need to work on changing snap count for kicks; the defense should not be able to time it like Frogger LOL

You turn it over like that, bad things typically happen.....ifs and butts were candy nuts it would be xmas everyday. Thought we played okay, thought Breaux could have used some help with Thomas at times, but still at least we were in position to win at the end.....once again. And please, please let's not be grouped into the Seahawk cry baby fan base, "refs cost us", I hear it every damn day. We take of the ball, we win. Simple

The NFL will change the kicking rules to stop this jumping over the center stuff as soon as the season is done. Betcha...

Definitely not blaming the refs for this loss. We had our chances and blew it. But...

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

Cant blame the refs for the loss, but can DEFINITELY say they missed a calls on that play HOW they missed them is the question He clearly stepped out and that clearly was suppose to be some type of call with leap over....All those turnover happen nothing you can do once they happened we fought back afterwards to lose like that is BS

Correct. We laid this turd.
We win easy just taking care of the ball.

the white shoe bit is an old issue

the mugging of the center is a new one on me.

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

What I cannot stand about the NFL refs in any game is if there is any case where the ball is within a half-yard of the first down markers the refs just move the ball forward and call it a first down. It's complete BS. Every inch is supposed to matter in football, back in the day they brought out the chains and got the call right. Generous first down spots, PI calls, starting at the 25 - NFL needs to have its shootouts and little Jimmy needs his fantasy stats.

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

He was out of bounds but Thomas's 2 fourth quarter fumbles and Kenny's late hit where huge. I'm still optimistic. We have to win Thursday. Our defense looked so much better yesterday. We are close my peeps. A few more additions on D in the off season and we are back in the hunt. I felt terrible for Thomas. He has been so good this year

Precisely.

The question is, will handling Michael Thomas the same way we did with Ingram when he fumbled harm his confidence or will it be neccessary to his growth?

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

The Saints have lost waaay more games because of sh*tty refs than they have won...

That's why we can never let it get to that point that they can be a factor in the outcome of the game...

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

Yep we blew it. Have to admit though it very very hard to win a game when you turn the ball over that many times. We still had a chance of winning it. Denver is tough but will make our victory over the Panthers even better. So in yalls opinion was he in or out?

Ball security is paramount. MT has to understand the situation. The NFL is a humbling profession. His uncle should show him some of those Torry Holt/Issac Bruce Rams "greatest show on turf" highlights on how you go down and live for another play. Rookie errors ...

I think MT bounces back on Thursday night though.

I don't know, I have seen it done before by a Saint LB in a preseason game against Miami. He practically dove over the line but Marino still got the ball off and looked at him like he was crazy. Nothing was called.

I think it's legal. Only way I could see them changing it was for safety reasons but who has ever gotten seriously hurt being jumped over. Reggie use to do it all the time.

Re: Let's not start blaming the refs

You mean let's not start blaming these part time refs. If they are part time are they still professional? They sure don't look professional out there. There is literally no continuity throughout the league in officiating. I get paid to referee rugby and I'm not a professional(but I could do a better job than these guys).

It's clear that todays referees suck compared to referees of the past. Just sayin'. :argue:
