How about that defence?
I'm just as mad as everyone else about the loss against the Broncos. I am however very impressed by how the defence played.
6 sack by 6 different players. When was the last time we had that? And 2 picks to go with it. Defence was the reason we were still in the game at the end being -2 in the turnover statistics. Jordan was an absolute beast yesterday, 9 tackles, a sack and pressuring the QB and blowing plays up on a regular basis. Rankins looked a lot better than his first game and got his first sack. He has some real push in the middle. Also good to see us blitzing effectively and both Ellerbe and Robertson getting sacks as a result. |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Breaux allowed Thomas to catch everything. We were physical, stopped the run well and pressured their QB all night. Let's hope this D continues!! |

Getting a little better, but still a long way to go. The Broncos had the ball over 39 minutes and ran 83 plays, not good. I will say that despite the 4 turnovers, the defense did hold up and gave the team a chance to win.

Re: How about that defence?
Rankins and Fairley make an incredible 1-2 punch. I'd love to resign Fairley and keep those two wreaking havoc. I'm interested to hear how they were lined up yesterday when they were both in the game at the same time. The couple of times I keyed in on it watching live Rankins was playing more of the 1-technique with Fairley at the 3.

I'd also give some credit to Dennis Allen. He did a good job of mixing up his defenses yesterday and getting a little more aggressive with pressure in order to confuse the youngster Siemian. For once we did not sit back and watch a first-year starting QB pick us apart!

Dr. Z Unsung Guys of the Week
2. Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan. His performance largely went unnoticed due to the late dramatic loss to the Broncos but he was dominant in a losing effort. Jordan had one sack, one quarterback hit and seven hurries on 45 pass-rush snaps—and also six run-stops. NFL Week 10 highlighted by Seahawks, Cowboys, Broncos | The MMQB with Peter King |

Re: How about that defence?
Better from DA agreed but on key plays when he knew Thomas was the go to guy on key plays he might have considered doubling him up.

Re: How about that defence?
10 BEST PLAYERS FROM SUNDAY’S WEEK 10 NFL ACTION
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...10-nfl-action/ 1. Cameron Jordan, DE, New Orleans Saints For the second week in a row, somebody took Denver’s right tackle Donald Stephenson to town, and this time it ultimately saw Stephenson sent to the bench. Jordan was just far too dominant in New Orleans’ close loss for Stephenson to cope with in either the run or pass game. For the week, he had a sack, a hit and seven hurries, plus eight defensive stops to lead all edge defenders in both stops and total pressures. He played 78 total snaps and seemed to be destroying a play in some way or other in most of them. This was Jordan at his best, and marks the continuation of an impressive run of form for him. |
