NY Giant

Fg turns into -7 ten point turnaround

Why wasn't this corrected then?

There is a reason field goals are blocked 2 weeks in a row. Fire the dumbarse! We've lost 5 games by a total of 15 points and that's a point average. I hope they see the importance of a freaking field goal.

I'm just so disheartened now. We always find a way to lose. We are beginning to look like the Saints of old. Payton needs to do something now. No more field goals or extra points. We go on all 4th downs and 2 point conversions every time. We would certainly come out ahead.

and did I say fire that dumbarse!

"Could've, Would've, Should've isn't good enough. The Good Teams don't come in and say that........"

The Saints are not a "Good" team.

I said that the one tonight was his fault, and yes, it was his fault. Nobody penetrated through the line, nobody jumped over. He kicked it straight into the raised arms of a lineman. That CAN'T happen on a short field goal, and yet it did. That is absolutely on Lutz, and for the life of me I can't understand why people keep giving him a pass. I know he's a rookie. But this has been going on all year long. And kickers don't have to learn a play book. They just kick. So how much should I put on the fact that he's a rookie?

I didn't see these excuses being made for Hocker last year.

Lutz came from a small school with little to no coaching. At his first(I believe) kicking clinic he caught Harbaughs eye who brought him into training camp where he had his first real kicking coach. Harbaugh carried him on the roster until we played in preseason and suggested that we give the kid a tryout. We cut both of our kickers and signed the kid.

He is special but he needs professional coaching. He got better in Baltimore and looked great when he got here with a little attention from a special teams expert. He needs to be coached about his approach, timing and trajectory. A real coach who understand technique could make this kid our long term solution to what we've been missing since Morten Anderson left.

Do we know that because he came from a small school, he had little to no coaching? He's just a kicker. I have a hard time believing he's received any less coaching than any other rookie. Unless you've heard for sure that he had little coaching.

But even if that is the case, it's still not a valid excuse for me. Payton said he had THE best workout for a kicker he had ever seen. I don't know why Payton said that, after what I've seen, but if Lutz were this fundamentally flawed in practice I can't imagine he would have impressed anyone.

I just think when the pressure is on, he loses concentration. That's ultimately the difference between a good kicker and a bad one. It's all about confidence.

SP traded for Olinda Mare. That speaks volumes!

Just like Carl Smith was to Jim Mora.

Have posted this before...

On Booby Hebert's Monday night radio show (or Tuesday in event of MNF), he exonerated Carl Smith saying Mora wouldn't trust offense and held 'em back...

Not always impressed with Hebert, but that night I was with the way he stopped the caller mid-stream, monologued and was forthright about Mora's mistrust and failing to publicly accept heat and wrongly letting Smith take the heat for about five minutes and then brought on Carl Smith...

A few weeks later one of the producers remarked how the switchboard was lit up when they announced the guest and that after Hebert "enlightened" calls the board cleared briefly and that several callers then called with graciousness to Smith...

Make no mistake though, this is on Payton and his failing to jettison an ineffective coach...

Exactly. In that case, Loomis should fire him.

And since Loomis is a rubber stamp, that's not going to happen...

That's why I've said Loomis is the weak link on this team...
