Saints' Mark Ingram misses practice with a toe injury

The New Orleans Saints list running back Mark Ingram as not practicing Wednesday with a toe injury.

Ingram was observed on the field during the stretching and conditioning portion of practice open to the media, but left the area when the team broke out to individual position drills.

The Saints will likely rely heavily on Tim Hightower if Ingram is unavailable Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Turf Toe probably. It's hurts like a bastard. I've had it before. Hope it isn't anything serious. I want MI to have another angry game.

Yep. It hurts like hell alright. A toe injury almost derailed his career. Let's hope it's nothing.

I sure hope after the season is over that the Saints can find an upgrade for this guy. Love me some healthy and angry Mark Ingram, but he just cannot be trusted to last an entire season. Hoping for a speedy recovery, those toe injuries are nothing to laugh at.

(Please note I am not saying cut him, just need an upgrade for the primary option).
