In all fairness, Cooks was wide open on both of those plays and screwed up both times. I'd say it was Brees' fault if it was, but those were all on cooks.

Thomas is WR1. Sure Cooks is not happy about that development. At times he will be WR 1 but it's not a big deal. The roles got reversed in terms of targets because Thomas can physically get open more. I don't think Cooks has the ability to improve that much being smaller. Some smaller receivers have figured it out but not many. Jamison Crowder, Steve Smith comes to mind.
