What was ingrams problem?

Was he pissed he didn't get a chance to score? I'm sorry I thought in games like these you are supposed to put the ball in the hands of the person who was in the best position to score.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Saw on Bleacher Report that Ingram missed out on a $100,000 incentive in his contract. Supposedly he is 1 touchdown away. Don't know if this is true or not.

This has just gotten out of hand.

Hightower did as well as Ingram with his touches today. I thought Ingram acted like a idiot after Hightower scored.

Huh, not sure why the next couple games wouldn't count, should get a score by then. Has to be more To it I would think, but I guess you never know.

Wish he saw me at the game, I just got our pipes unfroze, and furnace took a dump, been single digits for about a week,

I like MI and always have but if he is that damn selfish ...

Trade him. There is no excuse for that irate behavior, especially when we just scored. Team sport pal.

Next year's draft class is loaded with great RBs. Just sayin'...

This isn't the first time we've seen Ingram get angry about being taken out of the game. This is just the first time we've seen him yelling at Payton.

Christian Mccaffrey. Perfect fit for this offense.

That irritate reaction is not competitiveness it is selfishness that is transferring from the selfishness of Brandin Cooks. Need to put a stop to it before it becomes a cancer to the locker room

at least dude cares, he went over and hugged hightower, but at least he wants to be out there

I'm really, really against taking Leonard Fournette in the upcoming draft...

That said, how ironic would it be to see him do a Reggie Bush and post a tweet saying "Thanks folks for the memories if we take a back in the third round..."?

This is one year where I'd join Payton in avoiding any LSU Tigers...

Hagan, MI signed his extension knowing good and well Sean rotates his RB's.

Quite unsportsmanlike and disrespectful on many levels. There is a time and place for everything.

The Saints need an impact defensive player more than a RB.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Idk. Ingram was doing well. I think he had a better ypc average then Hightower too. He was doing all the dirty work and Hightower was getting the scores. That said, I hope he's pissed because he wants to stay in and he's competitive and not that he wants TDs.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Here's a read on it. He spoke to the media and sounded more team oriented then Cooks did a couple weeks ago.

Mark Ingram on shouting at Sean Payton: 'I need to control my emotions better' | NOLA.com

QBREES9 12-19-2016 12:28 AM

Re: What was ingrams problem?

"I'm real competitive in everything I do," Ingram said of the sideline fit. "I got to be smarter, I got to control my emotions better, but we had a great win as a team and that's our No. 1 goal. And that's what I'm happy for, that we're bringing a win back to New Orleans."

I can't blame if he wants to score.

dizzle88 12-19-2016 05:01 AM

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Of course he wants to score. The previous play he had just converted a tough 3rd and 1 play, then he gets taken out.

Unlike Brandin Cooks, Ingram didn't go straight to the media and whine with "closed mouths don't get fed" comments, he directed every question back to how proud of the victory he is.

This isn't selfishness on Ingram's part, he could have handled it much better but I'm not mad that he's passionate.

He even hugged Hightower after the TD, the players love his competitiveness.

article makes me like hightower even more

Re: What was ingrams problem?

IMO the main reason Ingram was pulled is he simple doesn't hold up well. Ingram is a tough as they come, but historically if he hits 20 plus carries he breaks down quick.

I know and he should get a tongue lashing and apologize.

But if you get pulled time and time again as a player there will be a point you lose it.

as you said it was not timed right at all. could Cooks crying have anything to do with? added fuel to the fire?

neither was right but I look at this as a bigger issue than a game issue. MI does not have a history of this so I am giving him a bit of a pass here.

The past two weeks of player drama is not wanted.

This is the type of behaviour that winning tends to cover up.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Don't think it's a big deal I probably would have been mad too. Hightower had already scored and Ingram did a lot of the work that kept giving us first downs. He should have had a chance could have got his message across in a better way but we all have lost it from time to time.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

According to what I've read, Cooks cry babied and look at all the passes thrown to him since. Ingram will get every hand off now!!

Re: What was ingrams problem?

I liked what I saw from Mark Ingram and quite frankly wonder why it took so long for him to get upset. Ingram gets taken off the field very often come TD time after doing all the dirty work. Shoot, my wife even commented on that and she doesn't watch but a quarter of the games. He doesn't get used enough, and yesterday he clearly out ran Hightower.

To suggest Hightower is better than Ingram is lunacy.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

My take on Hightower scoring is, it was against his old team so let him stick it to them on the board. Ingram should have been cheering him on. Although I enjoy a good fiery fit now and then. lol

good point

Re: What was ingrams problem?

I could care less about him throwing a tantrum on the sidelines, what bugs me is when he throws the ball forward after a run, or spikes it in frustration when he gets tackled, and then gets a "delay of game" penalty slapped on the team...this has happened with him numerous times the past couple years and shows the real problem with him. Love the passion for the game, but needs to keep his head on him....

Ingram did run to Hightower and high five him in the middle of his rage.

Yeah I saw that too, I'm sure they all got each other. Was funny seeing all the people trying to cool him down, or toss on some fuel.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

I think it is something that has been building all year. It wouldn't surprise me if he wants to leave to go to a team that would use him more.

He is avg 5.1 yds a carry, 3rd in the league. Yet he is 20th in attempts, and only has 3 TD.

I love Ingram but we can't let decisiveness prevail in the locker room. Hightower won't last long enough to train another back in this system most likely. He is a little older. However, with Ingram running well we may be able to get value for a trade......not that I want to trade our best back. But at the same time we need a strong locker room with this young team. If it comes down to it trade Ingram and Cooks. I'm tired of watching Payton force him the ball.

Re: What was ingrams problem?

Good teams don't do this stuff. Blount could have scored a couple more times yesterday. Don't see him getting angry at all. They didn't even use Blount most of the game and Denver is not that stout against the run.
