T-Sucky gone!!!!!!!!!

anyone else find it ironic that he goes to miami following the previous n.o. free safety? his contract their is for half of what it was to be here. i do think he could have more success at strong safety and if nothing else be a decent backup at both.

a dolphins fan website stated it like this-
Tebucky Jones will be competing to play strong safety in Miami. In New Orleans he played out of position as a free safety, where he lead the Saints with 102 tackles last season, but his range and basic ball skills were questioned. He had just two interceptions and two forced fumbles last year. His chief attribute is heavy hitting, a quality he demonstrated in 2004 in a full 16 game slate.

heavy hits without wrapping them up LOL
rotsa ruck and good riddance
...one more kick inhis butt on the way out-

Wed Mar 16, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com
The Times-Picayune reports in releasing CB Tebucky Jones, the Saints will be forced to eat $1.27 million in salary-cap space. Jones was scheduled to count $3.13 million against the $85.5 million salary cap this season. His cap hit increased to $4.40 million upon his release because of the acceleration of the prorated portions of the $6 million bonus package he received in 2003 and 2004

Yeah... misleading stats... when a WR or RB comes in your face its either tackle or be run over. Leading the team is tackles... just showes how bad we sucked up front. I also knew we were not going to get anything for him going to Miami since they are going to use every pick they can get.

I don\'t think cutting T-buck was a good move. Not only did it cost us 1.3 mil MORE than he would have otherwise, he was still a solid player (even if he was overpaid). At least he didn\'t go to a division rival.

All this carp about him being played out of position is malarky. He played nickle, corner, and LEFT safety in the Pat\'s non-standard secondary. They didn\'t play with a SS/FS set, as I recall. Not only that, T-buck was never really a starter. Thus, I challenge this view that he was played \"out of position\". From what I saw, T-buck looked like a moron when he got in close to the line - does anyone remember that late hit on the QB about mid-season? Dumbazz.

That said, I think he\'ll be a serviceable SS with good speed. This will allow the FS to roam and make plays - unlike us with Bellamy. I would have kept him another year. This is a pride move, and it didn\'t benefit us.

strong safety, where he will align close to the line of scrimmage, and where he is more effective.
So if Saban puts the players in the right spots in Miami and he plays to potential , better coach or better system ????

We as Saints fans need to do our part . We need to find out what really irritates Hasbeen and bring it to his attention regularly .

Well, the good thing is that they didn\'t wait until after June 1st to do it.

If they\'d done that, they\'d have indicated to me they care more about this year than they do about the future. I\'m glad they didn\'t mortgage it away.

That\'s a good sign.

If the fastest guy on defense can\'t play the free safety positon, you can\'t put that on the coach, necessarily.

The bottom line for me is ... Tebucky was a non-factor in most games. And in many games, he was a liability.

He\'s been in the NFL long enough to prove himself. I wish Tebucky well in Miami. I\'m glad we\'ve got Dwight Smith and I hope Dwight is the player we thought we were getting in Tebucky.
