Could work
Clearly, the Saints are trying to create a bidding war. I suggest that the Patriots get serious and take over the talks by adding Garoppolo into the mix. How? Get Cleveland on the phone and start the process of working on a three-way trade. Intense, right? It’s doable. The Browns are one of the teams most interested in acquiring Garoppolo. Acquiring him would be the cornerstone of a vital offseason for the Browns. I bet the Browns could be convinced to put in the No 12 pick (and perhaps more) to get the quarterback prize of the year. The No. 12 pick would likely be more than anything the Eagles or Titans could give the Saints for Cooks. So a final deal would look something like this: New England gets Cooks and perhaps a conditional pick from the Browns; Cleveland gets Garroppolo and New Orleans gets the No. 12 overall pick. That would be pretty dang solid work, for all three teams. And if the Patriots can benefit from trading Garoppolo, I believe they should trade him |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!
