Probably not the current debt. Because that is back owed. But future payments would be lower. So basically, if I change jobs and my income goes to crap, I can call the state and they can amend my current payments. They basically make you pay a percentage of your income. The more you make, the more you pay. The less you make, the less you pay. It's always about the same percentage. The income changes will change he payment.
