Throughout the year, players are required to attend NFL information symposiums on new rules, policies et al at their team facilities...

They get mail/Fed Ex which they're required to sign acknowledging receipt...

Just like any large corporation, they also sign documents that they've been informed of company policies and procedures and understand them...

And there shouldn't be one New Orleans Saint that hasn't learned from their teammates hard life lessons in the past...

But you inadvertently hit it right on the head with two words - young and kids...

Not quite inadvertent. That is exactly what I was want to stress. They may have to sign receipts and documents, but that doesn't mean they actually read the mailed literature or soaked up everything in the symposiums. They haven't been around long enough to learn from the mistake of others or simply failed to learn the lesson. They have to make their own mistakes.

Between the Vicodin scandal and Hartley and Adderall, and the 17 Adderall NFL suspensions in 4 years, does anyone seriously believe the "I didn't know line"?

Yeah Scott, its kinda like a truck driver saying "I didn't realize drinking alcohol was against the law" after getting pulled over by the cops. Or any other person operating heavy machinery on som medication that might affect your performance.

Adderall isn't an obscure additive in some supplement.

I don't hold players up as Paragons of righteousness because they are employed by the Saints.
