It's easy to accept mediocrity when it used to be so much worse. But it is nonetheless unacceptable. I don't think anyone needs to be in panic mode either.

I do feel like we're gonna kick ass this season tho and make it to the playoffs.
Yeah, look at the Patriots. Played the first 4 without Tom, lost Gronk, in SB. We're just a team with a whole lot of excuses

The Patriots are the exception rather than the rules. If what they are doing is so easy then every team should be able to replicate their success. But exactly how many of the other 31 teams have done that? None. Payton isn't Belichick, but then again, nobody out there is. Of course, it does help to be in a division with the likes of the Dolphins, Jets and Bills who have spent the vast majority of the Patriots reign as total train wrecks.

The Patriots success is tied to its unparalleled success with free agency giving them the depth to overcome the same things that cripple other franchises. Hopefully things are looking up for the Saints in the depth market. Hopefully the past mistakes are just that, mistakes in the past. I for one am extremely positive about the direction things are moving with the Saints and see no value of dwelling on correctable mistakes from the past. To learn and move forward is positive.

Yep. They also got rid of Chandler & Jamie Collins on defense with little hiccups & add in excellent position coaches. NE is a well run organization from top to bottom. Truly remarkable what they continue to do year end and year out.

I view them as a NFL Dynasty.
