Re: Jeff Ireland tidbits & scouting philosophies
I like him as well. Our drafting has seemed much better since he came. Hopefully we can get the free agent curse behind us soon. I really think that besides health drafting and signing bad free agents is why we are a below average team.

Re: Jeff Ireland tidbits & scouting philosophies
Do the titles really matter? It's pretty clear that Payton and Ireland are the decision makers on personnel already. Loomis is the accountant that makes their wishes possible and does an amazing job of it.

As someone who's worked with non-profits and service fraternities from my youth through my young adulthood for over thirty years, I understand and empathize with your point more than you could know; but, yes, titles really do matter.

Re: Jeff Ireland tidbits & scouting philosophies
We are definitely trending upwards with our drafting and I'm sure that Ireland has had a big impact but I'm not sure that Loomis is only an accountant.....I hope that he is influenced by someone other than just Coach Payton but Loomis has had a hand in a lot of deals gone south. He should be only a bean counter. He can make it happen when we need him to. Now we just have to give him the talent to spend Benson's money on to improve this team.
