Saints Interests during Pro Days
senior defensive tackle TRAVIS JOHNSON ran between 4.89 and 4.92 in the 40... some teams had him with slower times (4.95/4.98)... 4.42 short shuttle... 7.48 three-cone... 34" vertical... 8'7" broad jump and also did 23 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6037, 296 pounds... had a bit of an awkward moment with a member of the Minnesota Vikings, as he as he hit everything but his hands during a drill that is purposely suppose to have the defender knock the person's hands down... [b:bae1bb4635] so while he was very aggressive, a lot of people said he was not disciplined and a little hard-head, as he seemd to get angry with the coach, and accidentally hit him in the face during the drill, since he was so off the mark
FLORIDA A&M (March 14th) senior quarterback BEN DOUGHERTY ran between 4.71 and 4.73 in the 40... 7.31 three-cone... was satisfied with his results in the other drills he did at the Combine... weighed in at 6024, 214 pounds... has lost eight pounds, since the Combine, but has been fighting some flu-like symptoms the past week-to-ten days... did a full positional workout... threw the ball very effectively... had only one dropped pass... has drawn additional interest from Atlanta, Buffalo, Detroit, Indianapolis, New Orleans, NY Giants, NY Jets, Tennessee and Washington between the Combine and his Pro Day... having called his own plays in college and the attention to detail that teams have seen out of him when watching game film with him may now allow him to move up closer to the 5th round than 6th-or-7th. NEBRASKA senior linebacker BARRETT RUUD has received additional attention from Baltimore, Kansas City, New Orleans, Oakland and Tampa Bay during both the NFL Combine and his recent Pro Day. It should be noted that both Oakland and Tampa Bay were the coaching staffs at the Senior Bowl, which allowed them greater access to a guy like Ruud, who participated in the game. SAN DIEGO STATE senior linebacker KIRK MORRISON interviewed with Carolina, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, New England, New Orleans, Philadelphia and San Diego at the NFL Combine... meanwhile, Baltimore and Green Bay have shown additional attention, since the Combine, as teams are viewing him as an ILB in 3-4, MLB in 4-3 or WLB in 4-3. Just some insight into who they are keeping an eye on in the pro days. |

The last one listed is the one I really want on the team. That guy is a beast.

I like what I\'m reading about Ruud...morrison doesn\'t seem to me to be a first rounder..but I wouldn\'t mind him later on. McCune or wade in the second would fit me fine too..in fact they can just draft linebackers on the first day and I\'ll be very happy. |
