Sean Payton often talks about “the game.”

He watches the Super Bowl intently to see what the two remaining teams are doing and how they got to that point. Two years ago, he mentioned how the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks played defense. Last year, the Denver Broncos' pass rush stood out.

It's time to add speed to our defense.

So many holes and incomplete analysis in his article.

"Speed" in the NFL is an elusive thing to corral.

Scheme and discipline, combined with speed, are wonderful, but elusive things.

Who the hell knows at this point?

Deion Jones has all those things, SP just couldn't bear to draft an LSU player and now it's proving costly for us.

Do you think it was a matter of not bearing "to draft an LSU player"? Or maybe he thought replacing Colston was a higher priority and Michael Thomas graded out as a more pressing need at the time?

Yeah, the whole "Payton hates LSU players" is pretty dumb and its wearing thin.

I agree, and I'm an LSU fan and would've loved to get Jones. But if you gave me the choice again I'd take Thomas every damn time.
