STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY

Christian McCafferty is a player who would be a really good fit for the saints. He has impressed me with his ability to fill all the requirements running the ball and also as a receiver.
He excels at the kick returner duty as well. Payton would use him in the same way as Sproles. He can do it all and would be a great weapon in our arsenal. I would not mind giving up a 2nd rd pick for him. Thoughts, opinions?

I am haunted by Christian.

Every Mock I do I always have trades in mind to get this kid. I can not shake this man crush. My gut thinks he is the best back in the draft for the saints offense. Avctually the best in a few years. His skill set would solve so many of those secondary needs to help finish off this offense. RB/WR/KR.

His biggest selling point is the fact he opens up the playbook without causing starter conflicts.

This is the draft move I can not shake.

Trade down a bit in 1 pick up some picks to be able to trade back up to get Christian.

He is not getting the respect he deserves in the polls. Ranking the safe picks in the draft he is in my top 5

How would saints nation react to a draft of

Trade back Lap Gift Drop
Jabrill Peppers SS/FS/OLB/KR/RB Michigan 6002 205 4.42 #5 rSo

Trade up
Christian McCaffrey RB/WR/KR Stanford 5115 205 4.48 Jr

Round 3 Lap Gift Drop
*Adoree' Jackson CB/WR/KR/PR USC 5105 186 4.43 #2 Jr

Talk about instant impact talent on both sides of the ball

Thats some serious speed. Peppers makes Vaccarro expendable day 1, McCaffrey opens up the O and we get a CB with hands. Now I could be all about this if we get Hankins for the D-line and the backup MLB from Carolina. What do we get for Vaccarro?

He could be a very nice weapon. I just hope he's got a lot left - the few Stanford games I saw it seems like they overused him, went to him on almost every play.

We don't need Peppers, we don't need McCafferty! We need the big boys! Where's the beef?

McCafferty won't do squat for us without'em and little Peppers has maybe three years in the big leagues before he's carted off for good.

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY

I wouldn't mind having him, but not at 11, and I don't think he lasts till round 2. Considering there are a good number of elite prospects at the top of this draft I don't really want to see us trade back. Snag a defensive stud at 11 then trade back into the end of round one for him? Is he worth it?

Still don't know what anyone sees in Peppers. He's a great athlete, he's not a great football player. Not only is he a gadget player with no true position, he's a project who probably won't be ready to make an impact for a year or two at best. I would be crushed if we take him in the first. Brings back memories of SJB too much for me.

We need far too much defensive help to contemplate drafting him, like the first 3 rounds at least need to be all defensive players.

And no reaches or projects! We need instant contributors!

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY

At pick #11? Not for me. Christian looks like he could be special at the next level but not that high up. Here is my short list ...

Jonathan Allen
Solomon Thomas
Reuben Foster, Reuben Foster or Reuben Foster.

Side note: I got a chance to see Solomon twice while at Coppell (area Dallas High School) many moons ago but the kid always stood out coming off the edge. He has certainly put in the work since then. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if he was the pick either.

C'mon Mr. Ireland, make it count at #11!

RB's as everyone KNOWS are a dime a dozen. We better not be wasting anymore picks on a RB with our defense. Unless of course you want to see us continue our dynasty of mediocracy.

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY

Only way I would consider these three is if we hit DE, CB and G hard in fa. We have 25 million without restructuring Byrd, strife and fleener. Very good chanc we free up another 5-8 million with them. If we go after JPP or Sheard in fa that frees up a pick in the first couple of rounds to get the bpa. My dream first 3 tds would be Foster in rd 1, tre white in rd 2 and elflein in the 3rd.
