We have too many needs on D to spend that kind of money. I would love to have him back though. He probably would've had a few more sacks if our DBs where healthy and held the coverage longer.

Per that article, it makes it look fair if he's signed to a 9.5 million contract. There were some DTs that weren't nearly as disruptive and made 9 million.

What to do what to do?

Remember Drew is a free agent in 2018

I'm confused. What does this have to do with it? Are you talking about an extension with Brees to free up more cap space? That's a very real possibility and was also talked about by Miller and Kirwan.

I liked Brandon coming out of college and he was still on the board when we picked the big marshmallow (John Jenkins).

They said that if the Saints could work out a reasonable deal with Fairley ... fine, but if it would become burdensome then let him go.

I understand Miller and Kirwan's point completely however Rankins had some sacks but Fairley blew him away in pressures per snap. He was much more efficient. The Saints defense isn't going to get better if you are subtracting talent. Damon Harrison (Giants) aka "snacks" got PAID last year and he doesn't even have the production as a pass rusher that Fairley has.

Losing Nick would affect us.
