Sterling Moore was one of the best acquisitions the New Orleans Saints made in 2016, but there's no guarantee he'll return for 2017.
Although Moore has expressed interest in re-signing with the Saints, he's expected to test his value on the free-agent market when the new league year begins Thursday at 3 p.m. Moore joined the Saints in September after injuries ravaged the team's cornerback group, and his 12 starts were the most of any player at the position. He also led the team with 13 passes defensed, caught two interceptions and made 56 tackles. read more on NOLA |

Re: Saints CB Sterling Moore expected to test free-agent market
Can't blame him; he had a career year.
Still, I don't see him as a starter on too many teams. Rotoworld: Free agent CB Sterling Moore wants to re-sign with the Saints. He says the interest is mutual. Signed just ahead of Week 1 as depth, Moore ended up leading all Saints corners in snaps and received the best coverage grade of the group from Pro Football Focus, though he was still 71st in the league among 120 qualifiers. Moore won't command much on the open market. Feb 22 - 10:55 AM |

Let him take a few phone calls and set the market. With our high-draft-pick-MASH-unit secondary, I'd love him to stay. I just think that not a lot of teams are looking for a 5'10" journeyman CB from the worst pass defense in the league |

Re: Saints CB Sterling Moore expected to test free-agent market
Not inviting him back at the small salary he commands would be a slap in the face for all the work he put in for us last year where he was thrown into the fire to cover #1 receivers. He rarely got penalized and did a formidable job considering the quality of competition he was lining up against.
At worst Sterling is a good #3 and solid depth. |
