Taco Charlton has a visit set up with the Saints...

Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects
Wow, glad to know we're looking at him which means we're not taking him...[sic]
Bit of a project, but his length (height) would be tremendous at DE, I'd like the pick more now that we have two veterans manning the edges... |
Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects
Project? ... shades of SJB. I really think some scouts are reaching with "Taco" in the 1st round.

The latest from Matt Miller...
Matt Miller's Scouting Notebook: Latest Pro Day Buzz and Updated 2017 Mock Draft | Bleacher Report —The New Orleans Saints could go many directions with two first-round selections in this year's draft, but I'm told by a scouting source with the team that they are in "win-now" mode and will look to plug holes in the secondary and at defensive end in Round 1. —A potential target for the Saints at the end of the first round is Kansas State defensive end Jordan Willis. His stock is red hot right now, with already 13 team visits and/or workouts scheduled. I'm told by the same Saints source that they spent considerable time with Willis at the Senior Bowl and combine. |

Only comparison I could make was Jon Jenkins, literally being pushed out of the play every snap. |

Saints bringing in Youngstown State's Derek Rivers for predraft visit: source
Herbie Teope, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune By Herbie Teope, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune on March 24, 2017 at 12:33 PM The draft evaluation process with pass rushers continues for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are scheduled to host Youngstown State defensive end Derek Rivers on a predraft visit, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Friday. NFLDraftDiamonds.com, a website focused on draft prospects from small schools, first reported the news. The 6-4, 248-pound Rivers, who participated in the Senior Bowl, had an impressive showing at the NFL Scouting Combine. He posted a 4.61 time in the 40-yard dash for the fourth-fastest mark among the defensive linemen in Indianapolis; tied for the third-most bench press repetitions (30); tied for the fifth-best effort in the vertical jump (35 inches); and posted the third-best mark on the 3-cone drill (6.94). http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf...oungstown.html |

Michigan pro day notes: Taco Charlton improves 40 time
Charlton said he ran around “4.7 range, 4.80, 4.7 range, that was something that I definitely improved on and definitely wanted to do.” That’s much better than Charlton’s 4.92 run in Indianapolis. It should help the pass-rusher cement his place in the first round of April’s NFL draft.
