And thats why i agree with the trade
Cooks wasn't going to get us over this slumo. Drew time is running shorter and its time to throw the chips down. Cooks was an expendable assest. The front office took the best offer available and will try to improve the defense. The move up from 4th round to end of the 3rd is a bonus and could be the difference in a player we want.

The offense has lost 1100 yards.
With an improved defense take some yards off. You can easily see Thomas and hopefully Fleener covering a third to half them yards and Ginn can easily be a 4-700 yard receiver.

A new slot receiver/3rd down back will cover the holes too. This isnt loosing a Graham/Colston type thats also a massive red zone threat.

Changes needed made
ChrisXVI likes this.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Changes were needed, but we resigned low energy amidst another 7-9 debacle. BC probably not the change we needed. I hope we get a great player at 32, and I hope BC ****s the bed in N.E. I want us to be the winners, I want us to win our division. I am not seeing that we have done any of that.

Our defense stinks because our recent picks and FA moves stink. Sorry, but that's just reality.

Saints draft Christian Mc Cafferty @ #32 and he gets !600 combined yards and everyone forgets about B.Cooks

If McCaffrey is still there I actually wouldn't be opposed to that. He could potentially have an even bigger impact on our offense than Cooks did.

Said about him the other day
I really think this offense needs a 3rd down back
Heard a podcast the other day and they were saying move him from a pass catching RB to a slot receiver who plays snaps at RB and receives out of the backfield

I cant not see Payton taking one toy with 5 picks in the first three rounds
I do wonder if they are thinking of Mixon for a similar role having spoke to him.
Mixon has Sproles speed in a 6'1 220lb frame. That is a mismatch if ever i have seen one

Or

Curtis Samuel*, RB/WR, Ohio State
Height: 5-11. Weight: 197.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44.
Projected Round (2017): 1-2.
2/25/17: Sources have compared Samuel to Percy Harvin in terms of being a fast, explosive play-maker who is a hybrid wide receiver/running back. In 2016, Samuel had 74 receptions for 865 yards with seven touchdowns. On the ground, he averaged 7.9 yards per carry for 771 yards and eight scores.

Samuel has play-making upside for the NFL. As a pro, he will be more of a receiver than a running back. Samuel runs quality routes with the speed and suddenness to get separation. He can stretch teams vertically and is a dangerous run-after-the-catch receiver. With his speed and bulk, Samuel could line up as a slot or outside receiver to produce mismatches. He also could operate out of the backfield at times. If Samuel goes to a creative offensive coordinator, he could be a real weapon.
