With proper coaching who knows how good Anthony can be? Trading him is not an option.

Anthony will find a role before Te'O does

Re: What Is Stephone Anthony's Trade Value?
My gut instincts tell me Anthony will get released, could benefit from Nolan and maybe turn into a decent utility backup LB???

Re: What Is Stephone Anthony's Trade Value?
Ellerbe goes first imo. Bigger cap savings and Anthony not in the tub all the time.

Likely a few snickers and maybe a soda or two... you know what? Payton loves juicy fruit, make it happen Sean.

In fact, I'd be pissed and convinced that Payton would be the worst personnel manager of football talent outside of the offensive side of the passing game... Two years. He's only be a pro for two years. A great rookie season that saw him contending for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. And he did more than make a truck load of tackles - he made plays, a lot of them. Including the NFL's first defensive two point conversion score. And then a lost season of disconnect with Joe Vitt in only his second year. Exit Joe Vitt, enter Mike Nolan. I'd say at the end of this season after a full, healthy run with Nolan's tutelage, then you could truly evaluate what you have... It's a fool's exercise to consider trading him until then... And I'll say this, if Dennis Allen is so limited in his ability to implement his vision of defensive scheme and unable to make it work, taking advantage of Anthony's skill set, then long term, I'd have my doubts of Allen's abilities as a communicator and coach... |
