If they can't get that, then you can bet they will be asking for the Saints to pony up on extra picks, either in this draft or next year's. Neither of those things would be wise for a short cornerback who has succedeed only for a short period of time on a team that is notorious for making average players look like stars, in my humble opinion. It's why the Pats are always so willing to trade guys away. They know they don't need them.![]()
How any NFL team can still fall for this same trick by the Patriots, is beyond me. Learn a lesson, and stay away from the Patriots. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

You can only negotiate to trade (within the rules) a player that is currently under contract. Butler isn't.

Re: Payton not willing to give up #11 for Butler
As previous posters have stated, giving up pick #11 wasn't even an option.
My most recent wish list at #11 : Reuben Foster (assuming Cincy passes on him) - LB extraordinaire Takkarist McKinley - DE Solomon Thomas - DE (I don't think he gets past San Fran) |

I'm hoping Dennis Allen sticks around awhile; at least then we know we'll stay a 4-3
