I'm not campaigning for the Saints to select him, but there are people whom there are questions about that involved the Loss of life that were given a second chance to play in the NFL. I think the young man deserves A second chance.

Aqua, I totally get what your saying about second chances - I really do. I've been on both sides of forgiveness personally, and it's not easy.

If you've read the post, and look at the circumstances, he did not come clean nor he and his OU support team try to spin things down until the video of the assault, the video of the police interview were made public.

Look at the video of the interview before the Bowl Game and then after the before mentioned video were made public, pressure was finally turned on him...

He did not feign contrition until three months ago, the incident was in 2014...

This is from PFT

As it relates to the existence of remorse, the most obvious question is when did Mixon first apologize to Molitor or her family? Here’s what Mixon said during a Monday visit to PFT Live.

“It was actually about two years later,” Mixon said. “I’ve always wanted to apologize but from my legal team and a couple of people from the legal situation. . . . you know, in the Oklahoma program to media it wasn’t a right time for me, the right time for me to actually apologize. I pretty much told my legal team that if I could do anything for me to at least see her face-to-face you know where nobody is around I could at least apologize and ask her for my forgiveness but they didn’t allow me to do that. The first opportunity I got, you know, I’ve taken the initiative to ask for forgiveness and apologize to her and if I could’ve did it before I would’ve done that.”

On first glance you could argue that he wants her to ask his forgiveness because that is what he said verbatim...

Now, you can give Mixon the benefit that he's not the most polished speaker...

But even still it is about "my forgiveness" in his words, not her forgiveness...

I don't buy his act, not one bit.

  • Mixon followed her group, specifically her friend off the street to continue to harass and torment him,
  • Mixon got in her personal space when she told him to leave, and then spit in her face,
  • When she shoved Mixon back, Mixon sucker punched her...

Spike, it doesn't matter if she were a saint or a party-girl whore, you never punch a woman like that...If you can't appreciate that, than I truly am sorry for you.

You can't be more obsessed with a 40 time at a Pro Day than being familiar with what happen, drinking the OU cool aid, & join in attacking her character because you can't defend what he did...

Which is what is pretty much what is wrong with the game today...

Should he have special privilege because he can run with a damn ball?

Suppose it were a woman in your family or extended family, how'd you feel then?

Watch all the video, watch the police interview, watch his interview before the bowl game - he sees no problem with assaulting a woman...

There is no defense for his actions that day.

There is no defense for Mixon, Stoops, nor OU for the attempted coverup.

And he's only tried to apologize and make amends on the leadup to the draft nearly two years after the incident and video were made public...

These are the facts, not my opinions. First, cool off, check your prejudices, bias and your pride at the door, and then go and familiarize yourself with all the facts and before coming back here and try to disgustingly call someone dishonest...

Damn
I never knew what the full story was.

All i knew was what you see on the video. Wasn't aware he was giving them abuse and spat on them. Got to worry about giving someone like like money,it tends to make them worse

Dude, this is from your post

"He & posse track down a kid and tormented him, when the girl stood up because the boy was outwardly queer, Mixon punched her in the face"

When the girl stood up Mixon punched her in the face. No when she stood up, pushed him, and then slapped him he finally punched her in the face. So you cannot ask me to go learn what happened when you were deceptive in what you wrote. Maybe you meant to say when she pushed and slapped him, but you said he hit her when she stood up.

If he was stalking them, tormenting the young man simply because he is queer then he is a punk. Mind you he was like 17 or 18 when it happened, but still a definite punk. That doesn't give her any frigan right to push and slap him. He has every right to hit a person that puts their hands on him first. It is absolute BS that you don't hit a woman back, absolute BS!

I don't agree with bullying in any form, but she should have contacted the police. He was not physically assaulting them so she had no right to place her hands on him. She could have filed with the police.

We all had "legal teams" in college didn't we?

Two consecutive threads about this kid. How 'bout we merge them? He has a lot to prove in the big leagues and this is something that will follow him for years. The only way he'll probably ever get over it will be to win a bunch of games (Just ask Big Ben about that). I hope I'm as wrong about him as I was about Honey Badger, but I don't have that great a feeling about drafting him.

like I said I do not see the saints drafting this kid. History is against him. Saints have passed on players with just as much talent and less issues than this.

As a father of 2 15 year old girls, yeah it's rough, damn boys. I have preached to them that just because "boys aren't suppose to hit girls" doesn't mean they won't. I remind them prisons are full of people that did stuff they wasn't suppose to. As for drafting him, eh don't have to like everybody on the team.

Just say no ! there are too many other good RBs without the character issues.
I am not saying he should not get a second chance. just not on our team.
