I'm hoping we trade down a few picks and draft RB Christian McCaffrey. He will be a first year game changer and fits into what Payton does to create the #1 scoring offense in the league.

Also on a side note... there is some part of the Cracker in me that wants a white RB.

Snowball's chance we land McCaffery and Howard? We'd have Sproles and Graham back.

Freak part? At the combine he ran as fast as David Johnson, beat Tyler Lockett's 3-cone, and beat Khalil Mack's shuttle

Best hands: O.J. Howard, Alabama

Not only has Howard dropped just six balls over the past three seasons combined, his catch radius is quite impressive. Howard is able to go down low and peel balls off the grass on one play and then grab a ball off of his back shoulder the next.

Best route runner: O.J. Howard, Alabama

Howard’s athleticism shines when it comes to running his routes. He’s such a gifted athlete, with exceptional acceleration and agility that he uses to create separation virtually at will.
Like to offer some salve for the butt hurt if we don't take Howard...

TE Adam Shaheen 6' 6", 278 lbs
Arms - 33-1/2"
Hands - 9-5/8"
40 yd Dash - 4.79 sec
BP 225 lbs - 24 lbs
Vertical Jump - 32.5 "
Broad Jump - 10' 1"
20 yd Shuttle - 4.38 sec
60 yd Shuttle - 12.38 sec
Shuttle - 4.38 sec
3 Cone - 7.09 sec

Shaheen has had terrific workouts; shown he's very smart; he's a hard worker, self-motivated (after his Dad asked him if he thought he could play in the NBA as a low post at 6' 6", he found a team, put on the muscle and went out and dominated with a program that doesn't exactly develop talent)...

Shaheen's measurables are very comparable to Howard's numbers, but Shaheen already has 25 lbs more on Howard...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

We need at least two pass rushers in the first 4 picks IMO.

As for J Peppers, I don't see where he has a real position and his tape is just MEH (one INT, 10 passes defensed, and 0 forced fumbles).. I simply don't see ball hawk ability at the next level & he isn't big enough to be a LB. Mike Mayock had Peppers ranked ahead of Adams and Hooker is a head scratcher to me. Jack of all trades, masters of none aren't big on my player types.

Barnet looks good but Id rather have Solomon Thomas if hes not taken or if we moved up at all ID take Solomon Thomas DE. Solid all around DL man with great instincts and more natural weight on the bones. DT I have Larry Ogunjobi. IF we scored Larry Ogunjobi DT and Solomon Thomas DE that would be amazing to me. Think thats why the #11 and #32 is so important, could happen.

If we pick an RB ID take Samaje Perine over most. He has the skills that work in the NFL. A Deuce/Lynch type of runner with power, and we finally have and effective inside runner.

Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before.

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

I'm starting to warm to Hagan's mancrush and the idea of taking McCaffrey at No. 11...

No, he might not be a traditional 20+ rushing attempts per game type of player...

McCaffrey would be like a Shady McCoy type of back getting 25 touches total...

Plus, it would help the defense by eating up the clock with that style of offense...

And Payton seems to be on this kick of getting back to how his tenure started with Bush...

If I were GM, I still like DL Malik McDowell from Michigan State...

He can play up and down the defensive line, he's a physical beast, and only 20 years old...

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

I've really liked the idea of taking Foster, if he fell to us; but now I've got concerns...

While I didn't care for him going big time before his medical exams (and we still don't know if he's been checked out third party), I was bothered more by this "he'll meet with you in the LBer's room at Alabama and discuss it then kinda-thing...

If I'm spending that high of a pick, he'll be examined by my doctors and he'll answer question at a meeting of my choosing...

The other thing is that there's starting to be some grumbling among scouts about his ability to diagnose plays properly...

Now that my be opposing teams playing the red herring game, but he did miss some assignments late against Clemson...

We've already got a great linebacker that can hit who has the same problem, so I'm not looking to burden Mike Nolan too much...

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

My darkhorse is still DE/DT Malik McDowell, Michigan State, 6' 6", 295 lbs., who's rising late in rankings...

Really like that he could play DE in the base and move in like Cam in nickel and dime packages...

He's only twenty years old and think he'd be great paired up with our new DL Coach Ryan Nielsen...

Now reported he was frustrated with his role this past year having to play NT with no one around him...

He physically tested real well and he's got great size, length and 35" arms to control, jam offensive linemen...

Reminds me alot of a young Cam Jordan who'll be a late first rounder many teams will regret passing on...

I read teams are worried he doesn't care enough about football. No love for the game and his motor just turns on and off all game.

Go with a motion TE later in the draft pick 103
