What about a medium pick for both?

Seahawks Looking For 1st & 3rd/4th Rd-Picks In Return For Richard Sherman

So, did anyone take the time to read past just this headline? Well, if you read the article you'd see that Mike Garafolo "reported" that it would take a first and a third to get Sherman. Nowhere in the entire article did it say the Seahawks were asking for anything.

Then, if you follow the link to Garafolo's "report" you once again see no mention of any Seahawks demands. What you will find is our old friend Ian Fullacrap Rappport saying it would take a first rounder. Then Garafolo is quoted saying a first and a mid-rounder.

These are nothing but opinions being thrown out there by media hacks. These guys are guessing about things with no basis in fact, yet the gullible readers (of headlines) take it to mean the Seahawks (or any other team) is publicly making demands of some sort.

:dunce::doh::rolleyes:

Sherman is trash? I don't know where some of y'all are getting this from. I saw somebody else say he got abused last season. No, our secondary was abused last season. Richard Sherman was one of the best cornerbacks in the league last year.

“Sherman has been asked to track some receivers this season, and overall, he has allowed a passer rating of only 59.1 when targeted, remaining the league’s toughest corner to complete a pass on, going 16.2 snaps in coverage for every reception he allows—the best mark in the league, and 1.4 snaps higher than the next-best figure.” -

Go watch the film. Like...seriously. Y'all are way off on this one. The boards sees "potential" in P.J. Williams, Ken Crawley, and the rest of our injury prone secondary and begged to keep Sterling Moore...but disregards Richard Sherman and Malcolm Butler? Okay...

I wish we had more trash talkers to add some fire to this team. The 2009 Super Bowl team had some nasty players on it. You need a Jeremy Shockey. You need an Anthony Hargrove. You need people who want to fight and get in your face. I never imagined going onto a message board and seeing a group of fans who wanted to pass on not one, but two of the top cornerbacks in the league when cornerback has been a position of need for a decade. And for what? To gamble that a rookie becomes the next Richard Sherman when you could just have Richard Sherman? If Brees was willing to take a cut to get Josh Norman here then I'm sure he'd do the same to get somebody like Sherman...who is the superior corner to Norman.

Im with you. Id send that 2nd first for him. Dont like it as much for Butler as he can be got next year and keep the 1st

I agree. I wouldn't send a 1st rounder for Malcolm Butler, and I'd be iffy about sending a 2nd, but I'd send a 3rd and some future picks with no issues at all.

Sherman is more overrated than any cb I've seen in a while. If he has no help over top he got destroyed last year. I would not give a 7th for that over paid bum

You lost me here. Maybe you just dislike Richard Sherman the person and/or the Seahawks to make such inaccurate statements, no? I'd have a hard time saying no thanks to a corner who was the NFC Defensive Player of the Year two years ago. If Sherman gets moved, I think it will be for a 2nd.

BTW, I don't think he's ever missed a NFL game in his career. Too bad we can't say that with our corners :argue:.

We need more dawgs on defense.

Apparently my ability to get an image to show did not return with me to this message board. That was supposed to be Kyle Turley throwing the helmet.

exactly.

We started Webb and Moore at the end of the year and half the people here are torching Butler and Sherman, two top ten, if not top 5 CB's.

We gave up 274 passing yards a game last year, 284 the year before that. We are not fixing that with just the draft

A pass rush would help but add a pass rush and even one of those corners and we will be at least middle of the pack which I think is good enough.

Re: Richard Sherman....

Cam Jordan could only do so much on his own, Lord knows Kruger was so invisible we could have played with 10 players on D instead.

Cam Jordan consistently beats his man, but the QB can step up easily because we have no inside push and no DE opposite Cam.

Now, re-signing Fairley and Rankins in his second season will go a long way to help that, but we still need a dominant DE opposite Cam.

Jones? Julio Jones? The best WR in the NFL? Who's shutting down Julio Jones? Show me that cornerback.

Good locker room guy? I dont know.. he seems like a loud mouth prima

I was thinking what an above poster said... This smells like Brandon
Browner, who had good years in Seattle, before coming here and sucking.

I just can't lump a player like Sherman with Browner. He (BB) was terrible in New England & his last year in Seattle when they won the SB, didn't see the field in the playoffs. Just a bad signing for the Saints.

Sherman is a proven commodity.

I don't think people have really watched Sherman play. Brandon Browner never showed the skillset of a Richard Sherman.

Watch his "highlights" when there is no safety over top or one of his dominant safeties is hurt. He is avg at best

No one shuts him down but PP and Norman have played him great.

Sherman brings some heart and smarts but also brings slow and cheat. NO. He is good but not some great CB and not worth anywhere near what is being discussed. We would be paying top dollar for someone that won't be covering top tier WR's. NO.

It's about matchups. Harris(or Talib) shut him down. He was quiet the first game against us. He has been locked down before. he often does not have back to back big games.
