Agree. Feel good story, but really is not much different (better) than any other 29 year-old chasing a dream.
Hopefully someone gives him a shot and a few paychecks

AP and MI I feel are to much a like in some ways.

In that case maybe we should consider bringing Reggie Bush back, he's a free agent. I know Reggie is in the twilight of his career but he's at least better than Cadet was.

I was in the military and spent time over seas. His legs are fresh. Not having ISIS go after his knees every play is a sign of healthy legs. Probably in better shape than he has ever been.

Im but these arguments for him are nit great. If he had done anythibg but join the army people would be claiming he doesn't love football,he avg 2 yards a carry etc.

Another thought, how was Hightower any better when we gave him a chance? The guy had just about every knee surgery you could have. Coffee is wanting to come back and wanting to prove he can. It would be stupid not to at least test him out.

Hightower was always a good RB. Really pushed himself hard after the injury to get back. Totally different situation. This guy hated football. He quit school, quit football and quit the Army. I assume he will get picked up mid season or something when backfields are depleted. Other than that no. I do not see him making any rosters out the gate.

Her is why Hightower was different

Hightower was a legit starting calibre RB before he got injured. Coffey was never a starting level RB. Less than 500 carries in college and under 100 in the pros then add
Coffee planned to return to the University of Alabama to finish his degree in consumer affairs, with an eye towards graduate school. Coffee confirmed that the reason he retired was that his heart was never in football and that he believed God wanted him to take another pathhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b4680d56a6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6f6129d49b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...70c0f65b78.jpg

This is what concerns me with Coffee. He is really going to need a drive to succeed and a real love for the sport because coming back as an estranged 30-year old is not going to be easy. If he is just doing it for a payday then it's not going to work.
