Medicine has taken so many steps forwards that players recover more ofte than not from injuries that 20 years back would leave them hanging up their cleats

The point is we cannot have an injured player taking up a place on the roster when we need to come out of the chute winning games. We need players that can produce on day one.

I think we should double up on corner and everybody should just trust me when it comes to Sidney Jones because I've never steered any of you wrong in life and I only have your best interest at heart.

Thats what IR is for

Your talking about him being a 3rd rounder not one of the first three picks
If you can get a round 1 talent in the third but need to wait for mid season to use him its worth the wait. These picks are for 4 years not just the first half of this one

Too bad Sidney won't be there in the third round.

He won't be the only problem child to have huge success in the NFL.

SF got a good one, problems and all.

49ers may indeed have a good one but Mr. Foster didn't drop in the draft because of being a problem child but more so the question marks on his medical. I just don't think that shoulder will hold up long term (that was the purpose for my updated post).

In saying that, I think we got a good alternative pick at #32. He could solidify the line for many, many years to come.

I'm a Bama fan but I truly think we made a better pick.

I'm not a Bama fan but I can't bring myself to say we made a better pick I really wanted Foster. I will say I think we made a great pick. If Ramcyzk works out, he could pay off for a decade or more.

Getting arrested for it is, though. It also places him in the program (if he wasn't there already).

Re: Reuben Foster

My comment on the Underhill's Offensive Line Story thread...

Well, this makes me feel even better about getting out-maneuvered on Foster and having Ramczyk fall into our laps...

Wonder if he asked the arresting officers "Do you know who I am?"

I won't even dignify engaging in a debate about the right to bear arms, no matter the whacked-out legislators of some hi-jacked states, and, which in my mind is absolute per the Second Amendment; but if he forfeited that right in a previous engagement with the law, then that's another issue...

Domestic assault more than CTE or any other crisis is what really should erode support for these athletes and it really makes me question the utter lack of morals on the part of the owners to not demand absolute intolerance in the next CBA...

And that won't happen because they will not yield any leverage on any talking points that doesn't directly impact their pocketbooks...

Man, Foster's too terrific a talent to throw away this opportunity - for his sake, I hope he gets his sh*t together fast...

Like I said, gun charge in CA - meh, f*cked up state, legislature; gungrabbing is scarier than those buying 'em...

But domestic charge is what is troubling - you're an NFL player, a bad MoFo, why're you hitting or threatening family?!?

And the Alabama pop for marijuana a month ago - stupid kid, playing stupid games, stupid agent, Malki Kawa - First Round Mgmt, not doing their job...

Besides, when NFL gets serious about equally enforcing dope violations, then I'll feel different...

Sometimes God keeps you from screwing yourself - Thankfully he sent us Jeff Ireland to save Payton/Mickster from themselves...

I've never seen a greater coach handicap himself more with personnel moves than Sean Payton...

7-9, 7-9, 7-9 is what happens when you give someone absolute organizational power - we're a Republic and that means checks and balances...

It was GOD himself ONLY! That kept us from getting Foster, remember the kid hung up on us cause the 49ers called and told him that they we're trading up to pick him. Red flags popped up then on his maturity, his agent should've told him not to come out arrogant and disrespectful to a team that down the line might be in negotiations to pick you up if you by chance realeased. IF HE BECOMES AVAILABLE, SAINTS PLEASE STAY AWAY

Re: Reuben Foster

So happy we didn’t draft this turd. I was saying from the get go what a waste of a pick it would be. You don’t go out and sign 3 lbs to draft one in the first. We got what might end up being the two best rd 1’s in saints history. Obviously we won’t know for a few years but the kids are studs

Re: Reuben Foster

I recall the story from the medical staffer who said Reuben Foster yelled at him saying "Don't you know who I am???"

Makes sense now.
