Reuben Foster

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Foster is the type of LB we've needed for years. He's better than Te'O, better than Klein, better than Ellerbe. We would be foolish to pass on him given the chance....

Better than a healthy Ellerbe? C'mon man. Foster hadn't played a down at the elite level yet.

Neither has Miles Garrett. Does that mean Garrett is no better than anyone on roster?

Is Fournette better than Cadet?

Until any of them prove it, no. Ellerbe's injuries are well documented, but he's really good when he's out there. Cadet has never been really good, so I'm not big on that comparison, but I won't say Fournette is better than him until he proves it.

But you do draft on potential, and with that I would take Foster. Ellerbe is no scrub when he's out there, for people to declare that a rookie, who hasn't played a down, is better than him.

A healthy Ellerbe is an impact player who immediately makes our defense better.

I believe you! But he hasn't done either - be healthy or make our defense better. Plus he's 32 in November. Please don't tell me you're counting on him to be the man this season either...

Reuben is an upgrade.

Re: Reuben Foster

Ellerbe is unreliable has never been able to stay healthy. Foster is a better player . A difference maker we need on our defense.

I like him. When he's on the field he does make a difference in the way the defense plays. The problem is getting him on the field. No he is not the answer but you need to bring somebody in behind him to learn the ropes.
