Some fans are concerned about losing WR Jerome Pathon. But, I think Devery will bring something to this offense that will open things up for other players like Donte' Stallworth and the TEs.

I\'m all about Devery, have been since we drafted him. He has good size and is very fast. If he catches the ball at the least as well as Pathon, he definitely would be more explosive after the catch. Of course this is counting on the fact he will be delivered the ball in a position to make a play and not be knocked out 1 step after he gets it. SO let\'s say if he gets decent balls sent his way, he will be better than Pathon and will probably challenge Donte.

Wow, I think he put up better stats than Michael Clayton, didn\'t he?
I guess that would make him better than Clayton Huh? ;) |

Danno, I am with you on the whole stats thing. They are overrated. I use them when they are thrown at me. And they hardly ever tell the whole picture. BUT, the general opinion was Clayton was the better overall and definitely more polished receiver coming out of LSU, while Devery had the bigger upside. We\'ll see if it\'s true.

I liked Pathon a lot. But someone (I forget who) nailed it when they said he was a posession WR with a speedster\'s body.
We all have high hopes for Deverey. He has a ton of talent (Oops, I\'ll probably be asked to prove it with a bunch of links ;) ). Of all our WR\'s I can\'t see anyone getting worse. Not even an aging Joe. I also have high hopes for Gardner. I\'ve read he has some talent. The only thing that worries me now are injuries. Imagine Joe and Donte missing games. :o Henderson, Gardner, and Lewis? Yikes! Is it possible Jerome could re-sign for less money? [Edited on 25/3/2005 by Danno] |

He could, but he also just visited Seattle. We\'ll see how that plays out. I would operate under the assumption Joe and Donte won\'t both get hurt though. To me, if such were to happen, I don\'t see Pathon, Henderson, and Gardner as much of an upgrade over Henderson, Gardner and Lewis. I hope we look at Henry as a receiver to bring in and learn and maybe replace Joe down the line.
I won\'t ask for any links on Gardner, cause he was a late round pick and not much was expected from him anyway, so I am not gonna question any talent he may or may not have. Thanks for your little jabs though, :P |

I love all of his stats, but this is something most of you might not know......
HE DID NOT PLAY LAST SEASON!!! does that bother anyone other than me? Our damn 7th round pick STARTED games, Devery didnt even play. Until he catches his first past, and takes it 75 yards for a TD, i consider him bench space. |

I think DH holding out last year pissed the club off and they never really gave him a chance after that. I like some of what DH did in pre-season and practice , making me think he\'s a playmaker. (lets hope)

Devery might not produce every single week like Joe, but every once in a while this guy is gonna go off! Think about the coverage that he\'s going to see being a third WR. A team\'s third best CB, a safety, maybe even a LB sometimes will be over him. We all remember what he did his last year at LSU. The man can flat out play.
But, while he was at LSU he played in an offense that seems to spring WR into the open alot. Think about it, how many times was he just so open it wasn\'t even fair. Same thing with Josh Reed a few years back. Also he had a QB that was a very precise passer, or at least in that offense. Does he have the hands to make plays when he\'s not wide open and the ball isn\'t right on the numbers? |

I don\'t know it remains to be seen. It looks as though he is out of Haslett\'s doghouse though. The Saints just might have 2 1,000 yard receivers again this year.
