Re: Competition brewing for Saints' long-snapping job
If a long snapper messes up you are screwed! Drew is chasing the ball over his head and only bad things can happen. He was worth every dime. I loved Drescher and have plenty of his signatures. I enjoyed talking with him each year at training camp because he really cared about the fans. I hope the replacement is equally effective. Thanks for the service to Justin Drescher I did not know until now.

I think the point we are making is that your starting center used to be a long snapper, or backup lineman. Now teams have to use a roster spot on someone who is very specialized, and usually doesn't play anything but ST on the kicking side. Drescher, for example, was not on the return teams. |

They have a lot on their shoulders. They always come in when it's the worst possible moment to screw up.

Re: Competition brewing for Saints' long-snapping job
Well, I can't say this battle will be riveting, but the fact we have three options trying out starting next weekend and in light of what happened last season and that we have a new ST coordinator, it'll be important...
Question is: Will SP micromanage or trust his new hire to make the right call? |

Re: Competition brewing for Saints' long-snapping job
You guys wanna complain about Payton micromanaging everything but yet when something goes wrong he gets the blame for it. Do ya want him to make sure things are done right are don't ya? Can't have it both ways.
