this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; How can a center snap the shot gun and not have the ability to long snap? Have the punter cover one side and the center the other as a last resort if you don't want him to get injured....

Most can do it decently well. But decent isn't good enough in the NFL and that is why you have a specialist to do it.
