I think people are forgetting that we might finally field a running game that defenses are going to be forced to respect. Weather or not Payton sticks to it remains to be seen.

Whether he does or not, the opposing defenses are going to have to.

One of the best in the league. Thomas, Snead and Ginn for starters!

Drew will probably not throw for 5000 yards this year. I think we're going to run the ball with this strong young line.

No, he'll throw for 5K and we'll run it for another 2K. Best defense AND offense in one!

Fleener is the key.

True. TE play will be the key. Fleener better step it on up 2 notches this season with that high dollar contract and his below average play. I wish we would have grabbed a good one 2 seasons ago in the draft, how good would that be looking right now.

People under estimate Tommylee...

He and Kamara will be great joker/slot rotation players.

I see a ton of WR/SR options this year.

Thomas
Snead
Coleman
Ginn Jr

And then there is Fuller, Lampman, Lewis. It will interesting to see how the 5th slot shakes out. Before the injury Lampman was very good on special teams in 2016.

Can't wait for t/c.

How many WRs did we keep on the 53 last year? Cooks, Snead, Thomas, Coleman...I thought Tommylee and Lampman were Lampman were there...that's six.

How many WRs does Sean keep on the 53 this year?

Opening day roster 2016 at WR:

Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, Brandon Coleman, Michael Thomas, Tommylee Lewis

IIRC, Lampman was signed in late Sept from the practice squad.

Fleener is a key. Sean has many ways to skin that cat (sorry Forever) on his offenses.

Good question & don't forget the speedy/athletic kid from Ga Tech (name escapes me at the moment). I think he will challenge TommyLee for a roster spot.

I wouldn't be surprised if we start the season with 4 WR's (Thomas, Snead, Ginn and Coleman) because Kamara will be featured heavily in the passing game.

(2017) Thomas - Colston
(2017) Ginn - Dev Henderson
(2017) Moore - Snead ...

Shades of 2009?

Side note - #4 spot (Coleman, Fuller) ? ... FWIW, Brees was very high on the signing of Fuller this off season & not only can he make the team but help offensively. We lose some production with the loss of Cooks but I think we still have a lot of weapons at WR.

With Curtis now in the fold, I believe we will see Brandon use that 6'6 frame and added bulk to get the best of smaller corners inside the red zone. At least I hope .

D'oh I forgot about Corey Fuller. Yeah I like his chances a lot. Maybe we do end up keeping 5 WR's. Corey Fuller's measurables could make him comparable to Robert Meachem adding to the shades of 2009 comparison.

Justin Thomas.

It's just unlikely that'll happen. To be clear, Thomas was the starting QB for Georgia Tech the last 3 years. He never caught a pass in a college game in his career.

Now dude certainly can run. But honestly he's a 5'10 guy that is going to have to be taught the receiver position in the NFL. And unless he can serve multiple roles on offense and special teams, he just doesn't have the capability at this time to man a roster spot on the 53.

That's him, thanks! I remember Underhill stating he was worked out as a DB prior to signing? Training camp awaits.

How about as an emergency QB #3? That way we won't have to carry more than 2 QB's on the final 53 roster :D. Just kidding, just kidding.
