Smith Backs Up Howard In Oakland?
Clayton's Quick Hits at espn-
The Raiders firmed up their mission to be primarily a 4-3 defense by reaching a one-year contract agreement with Saints defensive tackle Kenny Smith. Smith will fit nicely in the defensive tackle rotation along with Warren Sapp, Ted Washington and Terdell Sands. Two weeks ago, the Raiders signed Eagles defensive end Derrick Burgess. They were a 3-4 scheme primarily last season. Smith was a third-round choice of the Saints in 2001 and started 10 games for the team, including nine during the 2003 season. He spent last season on the injured reserve list. |
