Mini Camp Day 2!

Good practice yesterday, but now it's time to ramp it up! Day 2 gets underway in an hour and a half!

Looking forward to getting more details about the linebackers...

Getting as many Jarrius updates as Saints updates right now...

I know more about Jarrius than I know about my own family. I feel like Payton is enjoying having him as a media diversion at this point. Focus on him, stay out of OUR hair.

All with closing speed. Nolan has something to work with that is for certain.

So we're trying out DT Tony McDaniel and there's also this...

I like hearing the defense is getting the best of the offense. Sounds like a good showing from the secondary today.

Re: Mini Camp Day 2!

If anyone else is using Twitter, could we team up and post the same question to media types to get info on the defense?

Seems like everyone just keeps tweeting Jarrius did this/did that like he's the new family puppy...

Been trying to find out where guys like DL David Onyemata, DT Justin Zimmer, NT Ashaad Mabry, and DE Trey Hendrickson are playing on depth, position...

If y'all got questions not answered, share 'em on this thread and we'll all team up and pose the same questions to guys like...

@nick_underhill @JoelAErickson @HerbieTeope @SeanFazende @MikeTriplett @SeanKelleyLive @JohnJHendrix @jkatzenstein @JohnDeShazier @LarryHolder

Both Erickson and Underhill have been very gracious in responding promptly when they can as they do have deadlines to meet...

Even EveryBodyLovesRaymond (Triplett) responds occasionally and is usually well-informed on team moves moving forward...

Both the Fazende boys, Mike and Sean, are pretty good as well; both are really good guys, Mike is usually quicker in replies though...

Forget responses from DeShazier or Holder...

Defense should usually be ahead of the offense in the early going...

That's a great idea JP! I haven't heard a single thing about those players mentioned. Usually Underhill won't say anything about D-Linemen until they can start hitting, but maybe we can get info about where they're lining up.

Hey! Don't you dare pull me back to something that logical! I'm having fun believing we're going to have a good defense this year and that they're so good they're already kicking ass!

Still not a single mention of Damian Swann. Also, PJ Williams has missed both practices with an illness. We all love PJ's potential, but with guys like De'Vante Harris, Ken Crawley and Arthur Maulet developing and making plays... PJ's running out of time to prove he can really help the team.

Think they said the flu, so that's good news. But you always have to worry when you have a guy that has played 1.5 games in 2 full seasons. I agree with you. That is why when guys were throwing out all of this confidence about this guy and that guy and we get this guy back etc, I was like yeah but they're always hurt. PJ Has real potential so I hope this season he is healthy, and it is definitely possible. I just think it is silly to predict a player will be healthy when they have been nothing but injured. IMHO

I wouldn't be a bit suprized to see Klien, Anthony and Ellerbe starting day 1 of regular season. I feel they could be really good. Anzalone will get his chance but he want start over Ellerbe if Ellerbe stays healthy.

PJ Williams is definitely the goods, but he's definitely got some bad mojo working against him when it comes to his health; he's got to make himself available...

Both UDFA Crawley and Harris have really jumped out in the non-pad, early portion of this process which is a great sign for the Saints and a looming tell of the level of competition we should see during training camp this summer...

Yeah and that young kid. Whenever we read about the offense struggling or the d getting the better of them this time of year that is really good. They're supposed to be ahead of them right now since so much of what the offense does is based on timing and that takes time. Plus our offense is no slouch. Be really nice to see some of this actually start to payoff this season. We have some real potential and are reeally building a solid team. I am high on the new lb out of Florida. Watching him play he has really good instincts. Reminds me of Ellerbe.

I saw a recap from Day 1 that Damian had one PBU on Coleman. He has been out there but apparently not making any camp "noise" yet.

Side note - I know it's super early but Arthur Malet name has come up quite a few times already. If he takes it a step further at T/C, that could spell doom for Devante Harris and/or Swann. Meanwhile, Kamara will do good things this year.

Drew Brees: been really excited to work with Kamara. Smart kid who you tell/show him something once and he's got it pic.twitter.com/rNtTybinrI

Seems like I remember this same thing last season. Even still, I have a lot more confidence in this year's team.

Isn't that the kind of journalism that's killing ESPN? We want football not drama or reality programming. Give me more football!!!

These days I record ESPN programming and fast forward through all the "fluff" stuff. It's amazing how little football they actually cover. And why we're at it how many times in one program can they cover the Dallas Cowboys?
