Re: Armstead out 4 - 6 months (shoulder)

Reports are it is a torn labrum. Been there, done that. I have lived with my left labrum being shredded 20 years ago. Painful. But, now we know where we are. Plenty of time to get the pieces in place. This may even create more continuity on the offensive line given how frequently Armstead was out over the past couple of years.

Move Peat over to LT. The rookie to G.

Terron looking more injury prone than Willie Roaf.

Drafting Ramczk was a good move.

Why? Ramczyk is a LT tackle.

All the talent in the world but dude is made of glass.

Peat should play LT. No matter how good Ramczyk is, rookie at LT is not very smart. Even Armstead slowly became starter.

Several starters out for a while. What are these guys doing to suffer these critical injuries? Not normal.

Time to move on, Armstead is an injury liability. Another great choice by our FO giving a massive contract to someone who can't stay healthy.

Why? Armstead was a rookie when he started. He did okay.

He started in week 16.

Re: Armstead out 4 - 6 months (shoulder)

This is an opportunity for the young guy to step up. Armstead can start the season on IR and return for the stretch and playoff runs. The new rule allows two recalls from IR this season instead of just the one last season.

I can understand his frustration when they all undoutedly work so hard, but WHEN he does come back, he will have a new ailment. History has told us that much.

On the flip side, it's possible San Fran did us a favor by drafting Reuben Foster and leaving Ramsczk available to us.

Just Say No to Olympic Lifts, at Least for NFL Players

Probably not popular, but I'm coming around to the opinion that Sean Payton is in some way responsible for the injury plague.

I blame his obsession with crossfit....I want fat Payton back

On the radio they said it was his hip. His hip is torn, not his shoulder according to 100.3 ESPN Nola sports radio (gus kattengill)

That was wrong. Especially don't take what you hear on the radio as fact. Those guys are on the air in a vacuum and have no time to check out rumors or misstatements.

They don't do crossfit any longer. landing with a great deal of weight on your shoulder can tear a labrum. That's exactly what happened to mine.

Thanks Guido, you have given me yet another reason to hate Gus Kattengill. Man, that dude sucks.

But, I will say that they certainly DO HAVE THE MEANS. The vacuum they are in isn't that tightly sealed, they just need to do a better job of reporting the news.

I guess Peat will get his chance to shine at his natural position LT and Kelemete will be our LG.

Fortunately we are deeper and more versatile on the OL than we have been in years. Don't forget, when Armstead missed time last season the offense still clicked for the most part.

Actually, it is the new norm. I heard John Clayton on NFL Radio yesterday and IR designations are way up. Detroit lost their starting LT yesterday, as well. Lot's of injuries across the league in mini camps. Under the latest CBA this IS the new norm.

Re: Armstead out 4 - 6 months (shoulder)

Only positive is it's happening about as early as it possible can. There's time to patch things up and recover some. Won't be ideal but better than it going down in week 3 or 4.

Losing Unger, Armstead and potentially Nick Fairley is substantial.

Unger will be back. There is enough depth to cover on both lines. The two areas where we have improved the most, LB and secondary, have to this point weathered the storm. That's where our overall success will be determined.

I've caught crap for this heresy, but I wanted to move Armstead in the offseason, Peat to LT, and add either Dan Feeney or Forrest Lamp to Kevin Zeitler...

Re: Armstead out 4 - 6 months (shoulder)

Honestly, this doesn't hurt us at LT because Peat will be fine playing there. It hurts us on the interior because we're going to go through training camp, pre-season and potentially the start of the season with Kelemete and LeRibeus as our starting LG and C respectively. That's pretty weak. When Unger does come back Kelemete will have to totally adjust to a different guy next to him.

According to Josh Alper on PFT..the window is already shutting on our season. Haters gonna hate.

"Peterson can only do so much, though, and the torn labrum suffered by left tackle Terron Armstead has been added to the list of things that could help slam the window shut in New Orleans this season."

We take a few more key injuries and the door might shut... Unger will be back before the season starts, and the O-line will be fine without Terron (he didn't play last year). We have 3 months before the season starts, can only lose so many guys..
