Should Brees sit out training camp?

Do like Farve and take it light. Would be a shame for him to get injured and he is getting older. Already knows playbook backwards and forwards.

Taking it light and not going full-out with training is why injuries are more problematic and common in the NFL...

Especially at his age, intensive training and conditioning are even more important than ten years ago for him...

Then there's the whole developing chemistry and timing with his receivers to consider as well...

Which is why I hate these pussified training camps they have now. Seems like ever since they took away two a days and full on hitting there are a lot more injuries.
Laws don't apply to Drew though.

Brees is smart about his body and he should be fine. Just don't hit the guy in the red jersey.

Exactly. Favre was in a completely different era. That is what makes it so amazing he was playing at such a high level into his forties. Today players like Brees and Brady are in better physical condition at 37 and 38 than what Favre was at 30. They train year round. They live with nutrition as a lifestyle. Favre would put away his beer, jump off his tractor and show up a training camp.

Absoluely not!!! Risk coming out to start the season flat lose the first few games and have to fight for a playoff spot. We have had good season when the team comes out and goes 4-0

There isn't enough hitting to justify anyone being held back in training camp.

They need to play in the heat on New Orleans so when they play in the Superdome it is like playing in cool air and makes for an easy and comfortable game for our players.

Brees is way to competitive to sit on the sideline and watch. We need him getting on the same page with Kamara, Ginn, Peterson, etc.

Not to mention, if our defense is going to improve at all they need to be going toe to toe with Drew and not Garrett Grayson.
