I would go so far as to say that Woodson is at least as talented as McKenzie.

If we got Woodson, it would be because he agreed on a long term contract, and he WANTED to come to New Orleans, so all of this cancer talk would be moot. NO TEAM would agree to trade for his cap number AS IS...it would totally negate us getting rid of Howard in the first place, Even the Saints FO isn\'t that dumb.

Yea but we had a lot more cap room then, then we do now. Do you realize we are only about 1 mil. over the cap?

Ummm yeah but even if we signed him we could defer a lot of that with a signing bonus though, therefore giving us more money under the cap. Signing bonuses are cool like that.

The reason the Saints wanna trade Howard is because they can\'t afford him. The Raiders have the same problem with Woodson and more. For one, he\'s simply a big pain in the ass. Second, he\'s largely overrated. He never lived up to the hype which quite frankly seems to be problematic with most highly touted players coming out of Michigan. Third, he can\'t last. He\'s injury prone and misses an average of four games a year. Fourth, he\'s not Deion and never will be.

He comes with too high a price and brings too much crap to the table. The Saints just don\'t need the aggravation. I would hope New Orleans learned their lesson with players telling them how good they are. Statistically Aaron Brooks was very good. He got his \"top 5\" contract and went to hell. Woodson has no trouble telling everyone how good he is but, living in Northern California as I do, I see a lot of Raider games and there is no team in the NFL afraid to throw at him. None. Much talk has been made about how much \"Mr. Davis\" likes this guy but it\'s no secret the Raiders would love to offload this has-been who really never was.

I agree that Woodson may not be worth the price or aggravation. I think a better move would\'ve been to get a possible #1 for Darren, then go after Corey Simon, Andre Dyson, and Sharper.

Couldn\'t hurt to try, but Woodson\'s contract may hinder our options for getting other FAs, and resigning players already here.
