Texans release Jamie Sharper

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; There is no way we sign Sharper. He is too old and not productive enough. I would not have a problem at all with the Saints taking K. Burnett of Tennesse in the first round and D. Blackstock of Virgina ...

There is no way we sign Sharper. He is too old and not productive enough. I would not have a problem at all with the Saints taking K. Burnett of Tennesse in the first round and D. Blackstock of Virgina in the second round. Other players I like are Ruud from Nebraska for ILB and B. Poole of Oklahoma. We desperately need to upgrade the Dside of the ball and we need to address it in the first two rounds.

Didn\'t Simmons come to visit after that quote was made?
In fact, didn\'t we sign Fisher after that quote was made?
That\'s true, JKool - but it\'s kinda the point, too. Simmons has never really been an \"impact\" LB, and his best days are clearly behind him. I have big hopes for Fisher, but it\'s hard to overlook his knee injuries over the past few years. He\'s drawn some comparisons to Cie Grant in that regard, I just hope it\'s not true.

As for the \"not interested\" quote, LB\'s like Kendrell Bell and Ed Hartwell were still available. Of course, we couldn\'t afford them anyway ... dammit.

From the SSW...
Jaime Sharper was cut recently by the Houston Texans in a move that apparently raised the eyebrows of several Saints front office people. While it is still too early to determine the level of interest the Saints have in Sharper, sources reported several members of the organization wanting to bring Sharper in for a workout. His addition would address the Saints biggest glaring need, adding a third linebacker to the pair of talented linebackers they already have.

Painful, isn\'t it? I hope.... but hopes can lead to painful endings.

With the 16th overall pick, the New Orleans Saints select Bobby Boucher, Waterboy of the Louisiana MudDogs.

Does anyone else think Adam Sandler would be an improvement? At least he can stop a screen pass.

I don\'t know, Sandler probably makes a lot more money doing movies, like \"The Longest Yard\", which is coming out soon. I think he would demand too much money to play for the Saints.

But Boucher would play for a clean glass of cool water.

Duh, yeah, what was I thinking. A high-viscosity glass of recycled Mississippi water wouldn\'t do it. Anyone remember the ketchup commercials?

Ann-ti-ci-paaaaa-tion... it\'s making me wait.

Guess we can write off Boucher.
