I always try to separate it out. I'm feeling pretty good about it if we're winning with our starters out there. It doesn't matter to me after that as I start focusing in on specific players when the tryouts come about during the rest of the game.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure I won't get the live game here in southwestern Colorado. Anyone know when the replay'll be broadcast on the NFL network?

Winning begets winning! Winning is a habit! A winning team is talented enough to win and has the coaching to win. But it all starts in preseason. Putting all the players in a position to win is what good coaches do. That is what I'm looking for Thursday night. If we lose the game but play well then I'm fine. Just give me a good showing from the backups and a high energy performance from start to finish.

I want to see results.......points don't matter now.

Edit: Game film baby! :p

At halftime the sky let loose with a downpour, one of those storms where the rain hits the ground and bounces back up a foot or two. The Cowboys destroyed the Saints and the Cowboy fans in the stands were brutal. The Saints looked like a JV team. They were disorganized, outta place and pushed around. They whooped us in all three facets of the game. One of the Cowboy coaches even made fun of the Saints on the radio after the game. (cause the boys are classy like that)

Well, we all know how that season turned out. Best season the Saints had ever had up to that point. And they even got their revenge when they humiliated the Cowboys by taking a knee to end a blow out in their own stadium later that year.

I guess my point to all that is, even if the Saints lose, and I hope they don't, they can turn it into a lesson and figure out what they're doing wrong. Just the other day I heard someone say about football, you either win or you learn. With all the new blood on the team this season, a loss could end up being more of a positive than a win. That said, for my own morale, I hope they dominate Thursday.

Who Dat!!

I was in the stands that same game, Utah! It was the first time to wear my brand new Drew Brees jersey. I still wear the same jersey every game.

I don't think it was about winning but Sean did say in one of those years (15 I think) that the penalties and mental mistakes were bad juju for the season ahead.

I think it very much matters. Especially for the veterans who have had to look slow starts trying to dig out of an 0-4 start. At this point a win of any kind will help moral. Do you play to win to the point of risking injury? Hell no, but they need the taste of losing out of their mouths.

We had lost multiple times to the Texans previously and dominated them in 09 preseason, that's when I could tell something was diifferent.

I just remember the offense doing whatever they felt like, and then in the third game I think we played the Raiders and it was just terrible what we did to them.

I am less concerned with wins with how we look. Last preseason our entire team looked bad. Offense looked terrible. Signing Evans helped the oline, but how we looked in preseason was not good.
